Then there is the National Security/Foreign Relations spectrum…

Some strange bedfellows.

On the left extreme is the NWO totalitarian global state. To the right extreme is borderless defenseless anarchy.

Degrees of disarmament----Conservatives–Degrees of New Order regional/global imperialism

The right extreme is occupied by anarcho-socialists AND anarcho-capitalists. They want the same effect for different reasons. They pretend to believe that little or nothing is adequate and there is no reason for borders. The Libertarians are blind adherents to their ideology, and the anarcho-socialists are intensely depraved surrender monkeys who will sell their own families into the most horrifying totalitarianism in exchange for the hope that they will be allowed to participate in the festivities. UNDERNEATH IT ALL, they all know this is COMPLETELY TWISTED AND INSANE STUPIDITY.

Moving towards the center we have degrees of inadequate defenses and engagement. People who pretend to know and believe that too little is plenty good enough. The only response to this is "Well, when you become a Bird Colonel or Rear Admiral, your confidence in your own judgement might be something better than TOTALLY UNJUSTIFIED.

To the left of center we have increasing degrees of dedication to establishing some grand regional/global New Order. This is TOTAL INSANITY.

Caught in the middle, as usual, are the conservatively minded people. People who recognize that, until The Second Coming, we will have to provide defenses and policies which are definitely adequate to protect vital interests and stop global predators from running wild or gaining WMD.

The horizontal Ideological spectrums have at the central point the least evil humans can achieve with increasing degrees of cruel stupidity to the left and right. >.<

The vertical Actual spectrum has an inverted pyramid for Rule by True Law to Rule by depraved men.

Econo-Fascism, national or globalist, is the right-wing of the Left-wing.

The only part I happened to notice.

http://postonpolitics.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2017/02/13/trump-might-return-to-palm-beach-for-third-straight-weekend/

UPDATE: President Donald Trump will return to his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach this weekend, according to a Federal Aviation Administration advisory issued just moments ago.

Why doesn’t he just stay there full time? Then he can play all the golf he wants while the Steves run the country into an isolated ditch.

And here’s how you get on their short list for whatever you want.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/sebastian-gorka-inauguration-medal-order-vitez-horthy

During an interview with Fox News broadcast from one of President Trump’s inaugural balls, soon-to-be White House aide Sebastian Gorka wore a medal that some Hungarian news outlets and scholars identified with Miklós Horthy, the anti-Semitic World War II-era leader whose regime witnessed the murder of some 600,000 Hungarian Jews.

Still days away from officially joining the Trump administration, Gorka, a former Breitbart News editor and self-proclaimed counterterrorism expert known for his hardline views on Islam, effused to Sean Hannity about the the death of “political correctness” in the Trump era. As the interview unfolded, Fox played clips of the President and First Lady dancing at the ball earlier in the evening.

Gorka’s choice of dress, a black braided jacket known as a “bocskai” adorned with two medals, wouldn’t necessarily catch the eye of an American viewer. But some Hungarians who came across the interview interpreted the getup as a nod to the knightly order of merit Horthy founded in 1920, the Order of Vitéz. Right-wing Hungarian media in particular fixated on what it saw as Gorka’s callback to a resurgent native icon of the far-right.

From the article…

Many who do not file tax returns still have taxes deducted from their pay checks. Out of that $11.64 billion total, undocumented immigrants pay $6.9 billion in sales and excise taxes, $3.6 billion in property taxes and about $1.1 billion in personal income taxes. ITEP estimated that if America’s 11 million undocumented immigrants were granted citizenship allowing them to work legally, current state and tax contributions would be boosted by over $2.1 billion a year.

How do they get taxes deducted from illegal pay checks? How do fill out tax withholdings forms without a social security number? Also aren’t a lot paychecks to illegal immigrants done under the table, via cash?

I have no problem believing state and tax contriibutions would be boosted by a lot if they were legalized.

I am more interested in the reverse… how would an undocumented worker ever get a refund on their taxes withheld, such as for legitimate work expenses? One article I read said that the average effective state and local tax rate for undocumented workers is 8%, whereas it is only 5.4% for the top 1% of all taxpayers. Another article said that it is likely that the majority of undocumented workers each paid more taxes last year than did Donald Trump.

They don’t pay a fraction of what they cost US taxpayers in welfare, health care, education for their children, criminal justice expenses, the expenses of the US citizens displaced in the job market…

That is an opinion that economists debate, with wildly diverse conclusions.

I think his record will sit for awhile, too. Last one was a Nixon appointee (go figure) who lasted like a year or so.

This admin is on really shaky ground. Little chance that either Flynn didn’t properly inform VP and POTUS on his call or that, if he really didn’t, VP and POTUS didn’t find that he lied until just now. With only a fraction of a fraction of an idea of any sort of intelligence security, it’s hard not to imagine that it’s only a matter of time before the Russian connection boils into a full blown, undeniable scandal. Then, of course, the question will be if the GOP has the integrity to investigate their own (signs point to no).

The fake news administration keeps trying to spread more fake news.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/13/business/the-gateway-pundit-trump.html

The Gateway Pundit, a provocative conservative blog, gained notice last year for its fervent pro-Trump coverage and its penchant for promoting false rumors about voter fraud and Hillary Clinton’s health that rocketed around right-wing websites.

Now the site will report on politics from a prominent perch: the White House.

The Trump administration has granted press credentials to Lucian B. Wintrich, the Washington correspondent for Gateway Pundit, to attend White House press briefings and ask questions of the press secretary, Sean M. Spicer.

Mr. Wintrich, an artist and writer who has collaborated with Milo Yiannopoulos, the polarizing editor at Breitbart News, attended President Trump’s news conference with the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, on Monday. He was joined by the owner of Gateway Pundit, Jim Hoft, who posted on Twitter, “President Trump just spoke about tossing criminal migrants and I wanted to stand up and cheer!!”

Fortunately the Michael Flynn thing shows that real journalism is still alive in this country.

Whoa.

http://theslot.jezebel.com/oklahoma-lawmaker-pregnant-women-are-hosts-whose-bodie-1792303950

Women, you may think that the flesh that covers you and the organs and muscles and neurons that make you breathe and poop and eat are your own, but actually they are not. Oklahoma State Rep. Justin Humphrey can see how might “feel like that is” your body, but if you are pregnant, he regrets to inform you that your body is now a “host” and you are an interloping ghost that once used to inhabit it.

In an interview with the Intercept, this is how Humphrey justified the unconstitutional bill he recently introduced, which requires pregnant women to get the fetus’s father’s permission to obtain an abortion:

Ultimately, he said, his intent was to let men have a say. “I believe one of the breakdowns in our society is that we have excluded the man out of all of these types of decisions,” he said. “I understand that they feel like that is their body,” he said of women. “I feel like it is a separate — what I call them is, is you’re a ‘host.’ And you know when you enter into a relationship you’re going to be that host and so, you know, if you pre-know that then take all precautions and don’t get pregnant,” he explained. “So that’s where I’m at. I’m like, hey, your body is your body and be responsible with it. But after you’re irresponsible then don’t claim, well, I can just go and do this with another body, when you’re the host and you invited that in.”

“Congratulations on becoming a host and inviting that in!” is a truly beautiful thing to say to a pregnant woman. Hallmark should start printing that on cards for baby showers.

So much for female empowerment.

I have mixed feelings about this. A hijab isn’t a burqa. On one hand, to many westerners it is a symbol of oppression. But in many religions it is a symbol of respect - including many non-Muslim (even some Christian) religions. Since we are their guests, being respectful of their culture (within reasonable bounds) is simply being polite. Again, they aren’t wearing burqas, it’s simply a scarf and it doesn’t cover the face. Many religions believe that it is disrespectful to show the top of one’s head to god - that is even true for men in many religions.

A colleague of mine frequently visits Saudi Arabia to do accreditation visits for their all-women colleges. These institutions are wellsprings of female technical education and carry the hopes of a better and more empowered future for Saudi women. While she is there, she wears a scarf over the top of her head. Everyone does, including activist women - it’s like wearing a shirt.

As an analogy, consider if in some mythical country, men normally went nude. If their ambassadors came to visit the U.S., would we be OK with that on their visit? Or would we expect them to dress according to the norms of our culture while they are here?

By the same token, I find myself bothered when I see women wearing burqas in the U.S., England, etc. Especially on college campuses… it seems contrary to basic western cultural values, which presumably is part of what attracted them here. For that reason, it seems slightly hostile (even if not their intent) - and exactly how we would be viewed there if our women ambassadors were to refuse to wear a hijab during a visit to their country.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/14/politics/kfile-roy-blunt-flynn-investigation/index.html

Republican Sen. Roy Blunt, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, on Tuesday called for an exhaustive investigation into connections between President Donald Trump and Russia and said the Intelligence Committee should immediately speak with former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

“I think everybody needs that investigation to happen,” Blunt said on KTRS radio. “And the Senate Intelligence Committee, again that I serve on, has been given the principle responsibility to look into this, and I think that we should look into it exhaustively so that at the end of this process, nobody wonders whether there was a stone left unturned, and shouldn’t reach conclusions before you have the information that you need to have to make those conclusions.”

“But the Senate Intelligence Committee is looking at this,” he continued. “I would think that we should talk to Gen. Flynn very soon and that should answer a lot of questions. What did he know? What did he do? And is there any reason to believe that anybody knew that and didn’t take the kind of action they should have taken?”

“For all of us, finding out if there’s a problem or not and sooner rather than later is the right thing to do,” he added.

Man, these idiots can’t do anything right.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/02/14/white-house-posts-wrong-versions-trumps-orders-its-website/97845888/

The White House has posted inaccurate texts of President Trump’s own executive orders on the White House website, raising further questions about how thorough the Trump administration has been in drafting some of his most controversial actions.

A USA TODAY review of presidential documents found at least five cases where the version posted on the White House website doesn’t match the official version sent to the Federal Register. The differences include minor grammatical changes, missing words and paragraph renumbering — but also two cases where the original text referred to inaccurate or non-existent provisions of law.

By law, the Federal Register version is the legally controlling language. But it can often take several days for the order to be published, meaning that the public must often rely on what the White House puts out — and that’s sometimes inaccurate.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-38972180

A US district judge in Virginia has ruled that President Donald Trump’s executive order barring entry from seven countries is unconstitutional.

Judge Leonie Brinkema issued a preliminary injunction, asserting that the campaign vow to institute a “Muslim ban” violated the First Amendment.

The Monday ruling is significant, as the judge ruled that religious bias is at the heart of Mr Trump’s ban.

All of the following is very encouraging.

In her 22-page ruling, the Virginia judge cited several of Mr Trump’s campaign statements including those in which he promised to create a “Muslim ban” if he were elected president.

“The president himself acknowledged the conceptual link between a Muslim ban and the EO (executive order),” Judge Brinkema wrote.

She also criticised the president’s statements that persecuted Christians may be permitted entry despite the ban, which she said amounts to a religious test.

She also referenced a Fox News interview in which former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a Trump adviser, said that the president wants a “Muslim ban” and that he had been instructed by Mr Trump to put together a commission to determine “the right way to do it legally”.

Judge Brinkema sharply criticised lawyers for the justice department, who she said did not present any evidence except for the president’s executive order.

“Maximum power does not mean absolute power,” she wrote. “Every presidential action must still comply with the limits set” by the separation of powers laid out in the US Constitution.

If Trump is incapable of learning from his mistakes, and past history indicates that’s precisely the case, his term will be quite short.
