PT references in TFA
- Tekka mentions “balance in the Force” major PT reference
- Kylo Ren mentions clone army (though the concept of warring clones dates back to the original film) OT-introduced concept reference
- Maz mentions “the Sith” (though the word has been around SW lore since the 70s) not a reference
- Super debatable, but Kylo Ren’s hairstyle could be purposefully reminiscent of ROTS Anakin WTF… not a reference
- Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan voice cameo minor PT reference
PT references in RO
- Turbo tank (though this was an ESB concept) PT reference
- Jimmy Smitts as Bail Organa (thought the character has of course existed since the original) major PT reference (PT actor is, no matter the character… e.g. ghost scene change)
- Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma (though the character is of course in ROTJ, and the actress played her in deleted scenes, not the actual film) not a reference
- Flashback on Coruscant (though the planet existed pre-PT) EU and also PT reference
- Vader’s castle on Mustafar (though this was also an ESB concept) major PT reference
Bottom line, if you think one has more than the other (or that they are significant in either), you’re wrong.
