I know we have many threads here devoted to different aspects of the EU and the new canon specifically (such as this: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/New-Star-Wars-comics/id/16890), but there’s no thread devoted to just the new canon content in general. So I figured it might be nice to have a devoted place to talk about it.

ONE RULE: no complaining about the new films. This is not the place for that.

As I mentioned an earlier post, these are the pieces of the new canon that I’ve consumed thus far (not really much yet, though I am interested in more and taking suggestions):

Film/TV

  • All the films, of course (Episodes I-VII, Rogue One), and The Clone Wars, which was grandfathered in.
  • All of Rebels, which is mostly pretty awesome.

Comics

  • All of the Vader comics and Vader Down, which were a very fun read on the whole.

I have the first vol. of Poe Dameron, all of Kanan, the C-3PO one shot, and Shattered Empire within reach and will read when the time is right. I will also 100% read Bloodline once I get the chance (and am quite stoked to).

Other than that? Not sure. How’s the main Star Wars Marvel series? Princess Leia? Lando? Chewbacca? Han Solo? These are the lines that are interesting me right now. I’ll probably check out Doctor Aphra at some point. I don’t have any real desire to seek out Obi-Wan & Anakin, though I wouldn’t mind reading it if someone put it in front of me.

Books

  • The beginning of the Tarkin audio book, which has been alright.
  • The Heir to the Jedi audio book, which was incredibly forgettable.
  • The Catalyst audio book, which was pretty damn good.

I’m fairly interested in the Aftermath series though am holding off until it’s done so I can binge read it. I know they have had kind of a mixed reception, but mixed means some liked it, and with the fact that they’re mostly the only substantial post-ROTJ content out there now, I really don’t mind taking a dive and finding out for myself (anyway if I really hate it, I can stop before I move on to the others).

Is Lords of the Sith any good? I feel like that’s still a fairly untapped time period. Lost Stars I’ve heard is solid so I might check it out at some point even though nothing about it really excites me. Is Ahsoka any good? Haven’t really heard much about it. I actually read somewhere recently that Twilight Company is really solid, which I found interesting because (as a VG tie-in) I thought it’d be pretty throwaway. Can’t be bothered with Dark Disciple. Is A New Dawn worth a look? Will check out the new novelizations eventually. Any other books I’m missing?

What stuff have you guys read?
