I don’t agree. I think more republicans will just double down on Trump’s rhetoric, in spite of waning public opinion. Moderate republicans who oppose Trump will just end up losing their primaries to challengers in 2018.

If Trump continues to be historically unpopular, Republicans will abandon him.

I agree. These guys still want to win their rererererererere-elections back home, and if Trump is going to keep generating thousands and thousands of protestors per day in the White House with his wildly unpopular executive orders and decisions, they will distance themselves from him. It’s already starting.
