Saw this on cinescape: Alien Planet

Not strictly star wars, but it promises to feature the bearded one:
"On May 14th, The Discover Channel will air Alien Planet, an conceptual exploration of an alien world teeming with life." Sounds a bit like BBC's highly speculative "wildlife documentary" series, 'Walking with Dinosaurs' - except this would be 'Walking with Aliens'.

"Other participants include Jack Horner, Craig Venter, George Lucas and NASA's chief scientist, Jim Garvin.
Alien Planet premieres Saturday, May 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. "

Ian McDiarmid on tv, being interviewed with Parkinson or J.Ross would be cool.

Hey gang,

I've been a member of these boards for some time and I never ventured off of the "preservation" board until russ sent me a link today in an email. These threads are great, I'm not pleased that I didn't wander into them before...oh well.

Anyways, I'm off to set the DVR to record a good chunk of these shows. I should have relevant DVDs posted to a.b.starwars when they're authored. I'll keep you posted.

UK : 5/18 : 7PM : Sci-Fi Channel : Star Wars Episode III Unsung Heroes - Christian Simpson
An exclusive interview to SCI FI. Christian Simpson is an unusually dedicated fan. His persistance earned him a credit on two of the films, and allowed him to walk in Vader’s shoes – literally!

These shows are around 3 to 4 minutes each and are basically promotion for the new Episode III game. They are all repeated after the first run.

Request: Any viewers in the UK with DVD recorders please could you try and record these in high quality. I'm going to endeavor to do it myself and make a DVD of them but I'm worried I might miss one.

Cheers

That sounds like a bit of a challenge to me......

I will give it a shot and try and record all these just in case you miss any of them.

...............and it gets even better for us Brits.

Sunday 15, 21:00, BBC3

Generation Jedi tells the story of a generation through the parable of Star Wars. From the innocence of A New Hope to the darkest episode to date in Revenge of the Sith, does this journey represent a modern metaphor for our times politically, socially, culturally, and personally? Have we all gone from hopeful Luke to a troubled Darth Vader?

Star Wars fan and Generation Jedi representative Dermot O'Leary meets fellow celebrity fans, real life Star Wars aficionados, and uses the archive to test the theory.

Damned Brits...we don't get any of that cool stuff over here.

No Sci-Fi channel goodies, no Generation Jedi, no DVDs in our newspapers, no nothing!

What do we get? We get Lucas on the fricking O.C. Oh joy.

It's wrong I tell you...wrong.

Oh yeah...and Hayden on MTV.

doubleplusungood.

it's just wrong.

...btw...the Brit-bashing was pure sarcasm, everyone in the UK is good in my book.
I've been living in the deep South for a year now, believe me...I truly envy you Brits.

WHAT?! the US has bad Star Wars programing?! Didn't you see the ONE HOUR SPECIAL on the Home Shopping Network dedicated to JUST Star Wars Watches. You probably want some piece which gives new cuts scenes or indepth analysis, phoooey...

anyway, MTV has some interviews with Georgie but i can't watch them cus they don't support Macs.
MF.com
If someone could 'save' them somehow, much appreciation.

G4 has had special SW mentions in several of it's programs this week, and the Original Trilogy Preservation got a mention by Chris Gore.

that would be cool or uploading each as a small *avi or mov* (ntsc format) video clip for us to download and record from a site or ftp.

Over here in the UK, tonite and next Wednesday at 9pm on Authentic TV (SKY 695) there is a Star Wars hour.

I have not got a clue what it is so I will record anyway. Home shopping I believe......

Also I have just taken out a trial subscription with DigiGuide which has given me quite a few more UK programmes coming up shortly.

I will try to post details later.
