Weird that some wanna make it sound like brimstone and fire without actually saying it. Our own intelligence community has stated that it is almost impossible to fully vet these folks and there are 1000 investigations with the FBI at present. There are apparently plenty of immigrants/refugees that don’t even have paperwork they’re supposed to have after being vetted while being here so I don’t know why at least a temporary furlong on this matter is even an issue.
Let them get it sorted and then complain if they don’t agree with some of the criteria.

I should add that this problem goes at least as far back as the Clinton Administration, probably farther, so it’s not like it’s a big lie or something.
LOL
So, I don’t know if immigration personally effects you, but I happen to live in a city that is very supportive of refugees, and has helped settle way more than the national average. I have good friends that work in resettlement. It is completely untrue that more needs to be done to vet refugees. It takes forever to come to the US as refugees. It is absolutely shameful the way politicians are using fear of terrorists coming as refugees for getting more support. The argument is easy to make, and sounds oh so wise “let’s just take a moment to make sure it is safe”. Well, it’s a very sneaky lie. It is already just about as safe as you can make it. I am sick and tired of hearing these uninformed, but well intentioned sounding statements. I say, let us do some good for refugees, and some good for the US, and keep bringing them in. Refugees make America stronger.
As an American it will affect me as it does any other citizen in any other country. My stand is that if people want to emigrate to the U.S. because they want a better life and they want to be a part of positive things, bring it. I can neither prove or disprove that there will be some wanting to do bad things once they get here. It happens worldwide. I know that during the Clinton Administration that due to the sheer volume of people wanting to come in that they started just allowing people without the paperwork or vetting that was normally mandatory for such things even then.
Has it affected the country? I’m sure it has. Will it hurt our country in the future? Probably some. Is it okay to want to put better procedures in place to help safe guard those coming with good intent and those already here with the same intent when they came? Abosulutely. Will we catch all the bad people? Eventually I’m sure. I get where you’re coming from and I agree with your sentiment. I also understand the need for a better and more efficient way to accomplish the work required to allow those folks wanting to start a new life as soon as possible.
“Better procedures” is a bald faced lie. The ignorance by those promoting this is either willful or uninformed, but it is still ignorance.
“I” am not promoting anything. “I” am just trying to have a conversation with you on the matter but apparently your intentions are not the same.
