Anakin lived in a more populated part of Tattooine, (and even then, it’s the ass end of the galaxy) and it’s suggested in TPM he talked to a lot of the space pilots passing through.
Luke arguably grew up in the boondocks. It’s implied he’d never even been to Mos Eisley before the events of the movie.
