Star Wars Episode IX And Beyond....

Personally I’m hoping they’ll put the episodic Saga on hiatus for another 10 years and just do standalones for a while. Even a five year pause would be acceptable.

I agree. The episodes need to stop after nine for a while. Otherwise Star Wars will turn into a Friday the 13th franchise.

My work here is done.

I wish that were so.

I bet you would.

I guess that’s what you’re best at isn’t it?

Perhaps the ST should be the final trilogy and all SW films from that point forward should fall under the Anthology banner.

I’m fine with another movie every year if they’re as good as TFA and RO. Keep making 'em and I’ll keep watching 'em.

This may be my preferred situation (depending on how IX wraps up), but Disney will never do that, there’s too much money to be made from the Saga.

If they were wise, they would find a way to branch off of the Saga in a manner that they can do a Trilogy or series of films instead of just one-offs. That way they can put the Saga on ice for a stretch but get people to be interested in following the series.

A film series set post ROTJ (non- Skywalker) of the Galaxy in chaos would be nice.

This is what Star Wars became when Disney bought them in 2012. Eventually there will be more Star Wars movies, tv shows, books, and toys than spam emails you might have in that yahoo account you haven’t checked in 10 years.

O no… whatever shall I, a Star Wars fan do… with more Star Wars content?! I tremble in fear at the mere thought! 😛

But there was a 16-year hiatus between Jedi and The Phantom Menace.

I have no reason to think that PT-quality material is going to suddenly become the norm for SW under Disney.
