Aside from the fact it’s my least favorite film (so far) of the saga, I’ve heard some positive things about the Imax cut of AOTC, anyone else seen it?
I know Magfan made an edit, how does it compare?

There were quite a few other cuts....but man...that was three years ago. I just remember thinking...boy this is a waste to pay so much freakin' money and see 25 minutes less and watch it at 4:3 instead of 2:35:1.
I will NEVER see another feature cut to shit at IMAX. Its a waste of time and money.

One of the things that irritated me about the film, is the look of the sets, they looked more like something out of one of the "Trek" TV series, just didn't look like SW to me.
As for the acting/dialogue, pacing and plot well that's another story...visually I never could get into it, and everthing else just added to the dislike.
I was hoping a good edit might improve things.

I would have to agree, I remember walking out of the theatre after TPM, dissapointed about what I'd just seen, but thought there were some nice things about it to salvage.
After AOTC, I felt depressed it was so poor.

In AOTC I thought the story was worse, the script was worse, the directing was worse...I still can't stand the Dexter's Diner scene, Jango is stupid, Mace has the worst lines of the saga (Even worse than Jar Jar), the tracked TPM music was infuriating, the Arena concept is just plain gay, the CGI was irritating (mainly the clonetroopers and bad looking sunset at the end made it look like a cartoon), the love story is impossible to buy, the supposed mystery was solved in 5 minutes when Padme suspects Count Dooku, the duel was extremely short...and I think Yoda went over the top...the icing on the cake was the Death Star subplot...it just pissed me off because why would it take twenty plus years to build when the second one, which is bigger takes only four??? Don't even get me started on Shmi staying alive for a convenient MONTH just so she could die in Anakin's arms....HORRIBLE.
Finally...it seemed Lucas did away with the midichlorian thing....something I wanted to see pan out instead of just hanging there.
One constant between the two was that the humor is just stupid and infantile...especially the fecal jokes and Threepio droid factory subplot (Which has the worst CGI in the saga, btw...)

One thing TPM had over AOTC - PM at least had a well choreographed duel, while the AOTC duels are too short and, well, suck.
Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.
