Anyway here's the answer:

The trophy - White Eagle - went to capt. B.Orlinski flying his PZL P.6, whose twin, P.7, entered serial production and became a workhorse Polish fighter plane in mid-30s. Apart from the competition part there was also a daily air show - Orlinski aerobatics won him applause of the crowd and and the journalists of "New York Herald Tribune", "The New York Times" etc.

Aahh... good old times... nowadays if you're gonna splash your MiG on Le Bourget airfield you can eject in the last moment and land safely... Orlinski's old antics from 30s included diving at max speed and pulling up just 10 ft above the ground - there was no room for error

Caught this trailer before I went on holidays... I haven't been this excited about a retro-action flick since The Rocketeer.

you gotta admit though, alot of folks are gonna hate this film. I think it looks amazing but its really going to polarize people.

I dunno about it being the highest grossing. Not with Spidey 2 coming out. This will definitely polarize audiences. I think it will do well, but not spectacularly. Maybe mid $100 million which is definitely nothing to scoff at.

If that. i could see this being another Wild Wild West. The average person is gonna think this looks terrible IMHO. I'm not saying hte movie won't be great, but that isn't always enough. Then again I thought LOTR would tank, so what do I know.

I think that so many so-called blockbusters tanked this past summer because people felt burned by how bad some have been. So many people will probably be playing it safe yet again. Something this obscure may not stand a chance unfortunately.

Was this completely black and white or was it a saturated sepia tone or a bleached out coloration kinda like The Pianist? I thought it was the latter, but I could be remembering incorrectly.

The trailer looked like desaturated colour to me (a la Saving Private Ryan). As for people hating black-and-white films, it's a mindset I refuse to comprehend, much like the one in people who hate movies with subtitles. Go watch your J6P fullscreen DVDs on your widescreen TVs and wonder why you have grey bars on the sides; I have no time for you.

agreed. My inlaws are exactly like that, they bought this huge widescreen TV, but they buy all fullscreen dvds. It drives me crazy.

Joe Six Pack is shorthand for your average idiot who (a) only wants his movies to "fill his TV set'; (b) won't watch B&W movies because "they didn't know how to make movies back then"; and (c) doesn't watch movies with subtitles because he doesn't want to read when he goes to the movies. sorryt he bigger version wouldn't send for some reason. Stupid hotmail. A google search might yeild a bigger version now that you know what to look for. Either way you can see that its totally in the old style.

Yes you can. There are ways around everything if you can read source code and you have the patience to sift through tons of crap...

Try this link... Sky Captain trailer broken from QT popup window.

It should work. I use this method all the time when I want to download trailers and the option isn't given. You just gotta sift through the code for the proper trailer link (there can be several that you need to discern between). It helps to have a high-speed connection when doing this as well in case you accidentally pick the wrong link.

Let me know if it works.
