Who said they were phased out by TIE interceptors? Is that from a stupid video game no one cares about? That’d be like saying the X-wing was phased out by a B-wing.
And I’m sure you’re about to come in and tell me how the interceptor is superior and blah blah blah details that literally don’t matter for shit. But I don’t recall anything in the film that implies they’re anything but a different kind of fighter.
