The original ESB was done using the Dr Gonzo version but there was problems with frame skipping for many people, mainly on NTSC players.

ESB was then done again using the TR47 version the same as both ANH and ROTJ.

There is a simple way to tell thest two apart.

The TR47 version has the full Leia welding scene and the Dr Gonzo version doesn't.

"The TR47 version has the full Leia welding scene and the Dr Gonzo version doesn't."

Wasn't that footage originally missing from the TR47 version as well, and recently fixed?

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

Footage wasn't missing. However there was 2-3 seconds of blackness during the flip between LD sides.
Rowman "recently" made it seamless. Could that be the fix you're thinking of ?

Even more recently Wookie Groomer made it seamless too, and this set ROCKS !
I joined usenet just to get V & VI, after viewing the ANH torrent.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

A quick question for Wookie Groomer.

Many moons ago, I recall reading either here or on a.b.sw that you wewe considering re-doing the split screen ANH but using the pre-ANH crawl from the EditDroid ANH.

I just wondered if this was still a possibility.........

Unlikely, I've moved on to other things now.

This is a prototype for disc art for them beloved Wookiee Groomer sets.

A couple of thoughts on your prototype.

Since you're doing a comparison pic of the two, why don't you use art from the 2004 DVDs instead of the 1997 SE posters? Also, why does it say 2004-1981 for Star Wars [A New Hope]? Shouldn't it say 2004-1977?

Keep up the good work. I like where you're going with it.

Due to the "A New Hope" crawl and sound mix that was used in the creation of the ANH split DVD, it's the 1981 release and not actually the 1977 release. Picture-wise, though, aside from the crawl, I think it's identical.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Sluggo,

that split disc design is great!! It almost looks too nice to include the 2004 SSE...

Sluggo, I really like your prototype. Great alignment.

Thanks, it's nice when things actually come together. Maybe I'll polish it up over the weekend.

Here's a different version. I think I like this one better. Less tan and browns.

Yeah, Sluggo - I like this one. Includes the full awfulness of the 2004 cover art...

Wholly sweet mother of God. I may never go to another webiste for the rest of my life. Forgive typos, it's hard to see through my tears of joy. This is my first post, and I just want to say thanks so much to everyone here and their hard work. I love the splitscreens, and the posted label here is great! I made up 1 for empire and 1 for jedi to use until the "official" ones are posted here. They are not perfect in anyway, and I am NOT trying to replace or compete with the previous post. I just wanted to make some for myseld, stealing the idea, and I will burn a new copy and replace these with the correct labels when they appear here. **crosses fingers*** I hope this is not against any manners or rules, I just wanted to help anybody else wanting temp labels. Thanks again!!

Can anyone point me towards software that could be used to create something similar to the Wookie Groomer split screen DVD set.

I have a few ideas running around my head that I would like to try out......

I see a "Fix" for Ep5. The nfo file is a duplicate for the release. What is this fix?

I originaly used Dr. Gonzo's as the 1980 version and it was nothing but trouble to work with. I now used the TR47 version and all seemed to edit smoothly.
