Yeah. I don't think I'd want to see all films in 3D...

but if it became a huge fad, we might never go back.. .like Color TV.

3-D has already been tried and has failed, let it die.

I don't think I saw this mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd mention it...

thedigitalbits.com is citing a source stating that this is what Lucas is going to do for the 30th anniversary...a return to the theaters for the OT, in 3D.

One wonders if this will make the CG stick out even more like a sore thumb.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

well, supershadow says major changes, so that should mean minor changes from the dvd version.

SuperShadow? More like SuperBullShit.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

exactly, supershadow says major hanges, that means the truth is that other than the 3d, the changes will be relatively minor, compared to the DVD's.

I have nothing against making all-new 3-D movies, and seeing 3-D versions of older films might be interesting, but only once. I stand by my statement that films should be preserved in their original versions; that's what brought us all here in the first place, right?

Well, if you didn't want to see it in 3D, you could allways not wear the glasses.

Go to http://uk.news.yahoo.com/050318/325/feho5.html

There's a great article about the directors who are advocates for making films in 3-D.
Don't forget: with Lacuna, you can forget.

"supershadow says major hanges"

Did you mean "hangers"? Are we going to zoom in on Leia's slave girl costume in 3d?

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

My first thought of Star Wars 3-D was newer CGI effects of ships flying right at you. I don't know... I wear glasses. I hate those 3-D paper glasses that I have to attach to my frames somehow (or, at least I hope they do).

Star Wars in 3D? If it weren't for the "special editions" a 3D Star Wars would actually sound kind of neat. But since we already have the SE's all I can say is that all these alterations have more than gotten out of hand.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

I'd definitely go see it if it were the theatrical versions, but it's two years away if ever, so a lot could happen between now and then.

I saw James Cameron's 3-D Ghosts of the Abyss (Titanic documentray) and it was really good. I would like to experience Star Wars in 3D and I don't think it will replace the originals or anything like that. It will just be a neat novelty experience.

War does not make one great.

"Supershadow says major changes"

(sighs)

First what pains me even more is that you belive the s*** that stupidshadow pulls out of his a**.

If you want to know good and (real) info about this 3-d article go to starwars.com or theforce.net

PS Never belive a thing that fools tells you.

Man, there's so much hate out there for Supershadow. Does no one see that he's one of the greatest comic geniuses of our time? Too many people seem to be missing the entire point. Supershadow is pure farce, and the joke is on the people who believe him, but the joke is also on those who think he's serious. Just enjoy Supershadow for what he is, the greatest farce on fandom ever.

The concept of 3D movies is pretty intriguing to me. There was a 3D computer animated IMAX film released a few years ago that I really enjoyed. The glasses that the audience used were made of high quality plastic and were comfortable to wear. Surprisingly, I didn't suffer any eye strain during the ~60 min movie. It will be interesting to see how well they can convert a film that was originally shot from only one perspective into a 3D image. Maybe they can effectively do this conversion already, but I thought most 3D films are shot with two cameras side by side.
