It’s even worse because brainwashing people into watching 1-6 in order completely changes the story that the original trilogy was trying to tell.
I wouldn’t go as far as “completely changes”. The OT is still the story of Luke. And ROTJ has always been the story of Luke trying to save his father. The PT does not change that, it just ruins a few revelations but not their meaning.
For the “saga” I’m refering to the theatrical posters of TESB and ROTJ, but indeed for marketing and video releases it was “trilogy”. Don’t forget that “saga” goes beyond the movies, it embraces all medias (tvseries, books, video games) so I’m very fine with that and so should you. Don’t let your hate for the PT change historical facts (the theatrical posters and trailers of TESB and ROTJ are easy to find to prove my point). Had the PT been as good as the OT I bet you wouldn’t make this distinction.
Just to say that I wouldn’t mind a complete 1-6 set (with every cut for each film of course… why not with new cuts as well as long as they improve them) because it’s Lucas saga as he meant it to be (well, except all previous cuts to the 2011 bluray edition…); love it or hate it but he did that in total independence, and that’s scarce enough to not forget it.
