Aw, screw it. This is gonna take too much time outta my leave time from the Navy. Thanks everyone, anyway. I sure was hoping somebody would be nice enough to send me a copy of the Despecialized trilogy. Oh, well. I guess my kids will have to grow up with the shitty versions instead. Lol

Oh sure now I’ll send you them.

Reported.

You’ve got a really nasty attitude for a brand new member. Nobody here owes you anything, and no one wants to mail you blu-rays even if you’re too busy to burn them yourself. Please either figure things out for yourself, be patient, or go away.

There are so many example of new members being thoughtful, grateful, creative, patient, or understanding. And (especially recently) an insane amount of examples of current or older members being nice (nicer than required by a long shot) and hooking people up with invites and such. Hell, a myspleen invite thread was just reopened despite that being pretty much declared a horrible idea by myspleen itself. There’s no shortage of kindness going on on OT, certainly. And that’s not even to mention the people who actually matter here, the ones that actually make these things.

Throwing a hissy fit because no one wants to burn and mail you physical copies is well outside the realm of any of the aforementioned kindness.

Sorry, man. I was wrong.

Hi, I appreciate you belittling me. Of course I have a “nasty” attitude. Of course I’m throwing a “hissy fit” because I want my kids to see Star Wars in it’s proper form…And I’m getting deployed soon. I’m in the Navy and I have to be in a submarine between 6 to 8 months at a time. I never hardly get to see my kids and wife. My god, I already have three people messaging me about making me some…and NO, they are not being sarcastic about it. Lol. Please don’t think you’re the “one” that’s gonna teach me a “lesson” by being the morality police. I’ve run into way worse people than folks like you that have no life. Also, I just found out a buddy of mine has an account on here and has been making them for years. Ok, then.

Dear everyone, I apologize for my rude behavior. I’ve been stressed out. I’m sorry that I offended/hurt anyone on here. I’ll keep my emotions in check. I have obtained the New Hope despecialized Star Wars edition through Harmy and other folks have kindly offered to make the 5th and 6th. My wife is going to work on it after my deployment tomorrow. Sorry I was mean. If you nice people can find it in your hearts to forgive me, please forgive me. Sorry, again.

Sorry as well. I could’ve obviously been slightly nicer about it. No worries. I think you’ll find that everyone is here to help others, even if that’s not always to the degree that some would like (though, as you say based on your PMs, some people do on very rare occasions mail discs when they have extras) so it can just be a bit frustrating to see the good folks here met with demands or hostility. And those of us with “no lives” of course are the ones editing and creating these things, often with the very little free time we have.

Is there anyway I can get all three despecialized films on blu-ray? That would be awesome.

I can’t express how happy I am right now. By some chance, I came across an article today discussing the reworks that were made to the original trilogy to get them up to Blu-ray quality. It’s what brought me here. I grew up watching these movies in theaters. I was too young to remember seeing star wars at the drive-ins with my parents but that wasn’t the case for the rest in theaters.

During those years, it was these movies that brought my best friend and I together. I have so many fond memories of my best friend and I going to see TESB as kids. I recall us being in such awe of the effects and vivid scenes as we watched the movie so intently, and I recall leaving the theater playing out the lightsaber fight scenes as we walked out and being so disappointed that we had to wait for the next movie to come out.

When ROTJ came out the excitement was on high again and it was so apparent that an article was written about it and was featured on a local paper. We had been waiting in a very long line to watch the movie with toys in hand, and us playing out lightsaber scenes again. A reporter had been there to write about the movie release and about the fans in the long line; it’s where he happen to see us playing. He used our story for the article in which he touches on the fact that my friend and I came from very different cultural backgrounds and yet this movie brought us closer together and how oblivious we were to our differences because of it; my friend Rason was from African American descent. About a year or two after ROTJ was released I had to move far away and in the process I lost contact with my friend. I have reminisced so much of those times since then.

I’m an old guy now and in very poor health now. I’ve been hoping and praying for so long that lucas would eventually put out the original trilogy in a SHD format, and not ones with the new CGI scenes that I have now which don’t compare. For me to get and watch these originals before I meet my demise is all I’ve ever really wanted. When I got here and saw that these films were remastered, and when I got to see some of the screen shots, I won’t lie, it brought tears to my eyes. Longer story short, I’m here now and I just signed up for an account.

I’m begging, if not pleading that one of you please provide me with links to the movies mentioned with all the features included. I’d also be willing to pay good money if someone can provide them already on working high end Blu-ray disks with all the box art work. This will also give me the opportunity to pass them on to my son. Hopefully he and I can build some memories from these movies too. I apologize for this lengthy post but I hope you will understand and see the urgency in this for me to get these movies as soon as I can. A very very big Thank You goes out to those involved in remaking these films! I really can’t express my gratitude to all of you just as I really can’t express my anger toward lucas for not releasing the original films in high quality. It’s really unfortunate that fans had to take it upon themselves to do this, but I really thank you for it!

I am really touched by this.

Try getting in touch with HanDuet in Facebook.

He often does giveaways for MySpleen invites.

I could’ve given you an invite as a Christmas gift but sorry, I can’t since I am only a regular user there and I need to wait a while to become a Power User, which then I can give you an invite.

Merry Christmas, and for your quest to find the Despecialized Editions, good luck and may the Force be with you.

Thank you Swift for the suggestion. It’s ok, I’ve waited so long already that I’m sure I can wait a bit more till something comes up. There was another person who was nice enough to help but I didn’t respond on time. I’m not that good at navigating on this site and I hadn’t been back to check messages or anything; I didn’t think anyone would respond so fast being that it was during the holidays. I really do appreciate all your warm thoughts, responses, and efforts though. I can already tell this is a great community of people and I’m glad I came across this site, even if I don’t get a hold of the movies, at least I still have gained something positive from this.

Is there a chance to get a separate download for just all the commentaries (from both the 25GB and 50GB movie discs)? I’m only downloading the special feature and documentaries since I’m using the German DeEds for the movies themselves and like to mux all those commentaries in there myself.

Seconding this, but I am also looking for each movie’s DTS track and 1993 LaserDisc mix.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

As for audio files for LaserDisc audio mixes, our member–schorman13–made an archive where he ripped audio tracks–AC3 bitstream, digital and analogue stereo tracks–from all the LaserDisc releases and uploaded them. They are on the usual place.

You can read about it here:
http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Star-Wars-Laser-Disc-Audio-Archive/id/14542

Mind you, these audio files are not Blu-Disc ready, so, if you are making discs of these, you are going to have do the work in:

  1. Upsampling them from 44.1kHz to 48kHz
  2. Sync’ing these tracks to what ever version of the video you like

I’m super new here so please forgive me if I missed something or ask a dumb question. I have the mkv files of the despecialized versions. I’ve owned multiple vhs and dvd copies of the special editions and I have box set blu ray release from a few years back. I would absolutely love to get a copy of these with all the menus to make a copy for my best friend. He would flip out to have something like this. If I’m able to get an invite to myspleen, are they iso files that I can then burn or is there more to it than that. I don’t need all the special features, I just want to make a nice copy of the film on a disc. If anyone can help me in anyway I’d really appreciate it. Thank You and Happy New Year!

They’re iso’s. The 25gb version is broken down between 2 disks, one for the movie, one for the extras. The 50gb versions have both.

I’ll try to find all the audio files and upload them as a group. Will let you know when done.

Hi. New member here. 😃

I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro (no blu ray). I’m willing to buy a blu ray burner for this project, but am looking for advice on a good model. Suggestions? Please forgive me if I’m not asking in the right place; I’ll do so once I find it, if this isn’t it.

On a side note, my brother and I grew up on Star Wars. Took my mom to see Rogue One this weekend and was thrilled to see so many female characters that I immediately wanted to start watching again. She doesn’t remember seeing the original trilogy, which is why I’m here, trying to recapture the way I saw them as a young girl…

There is a forum for technical questions that would probably give you some better results, but in the meantime: I have an iMac that I’m using, and I got an external USB Samsung TSST SE-506CB/RSWD blu-ray burner that works great so far. It cost me under a hundred dollars.

Hello, everyone

I enjoy the Star Wars retail blurays I own, but love the original VHS set before all the special effects were added. I have Harmy’s Despecialized Edition on MKVs, but I still like to put in a disc now and then.
I’d love to experience your bluray ISO work and I found a file on MEGA with directions on how to download the ISOs (knew better than to ask for a MySpleen invite here) but ANH 2.5 ISO is listed instead of ANH 2.7. Any help for getting an updated download link for the latest ISO version would be greatly appreciated…

Thanks!

I have a MySpleen account, but where can I find this amazing set? I only find Harmy’s raw movies.

Edit: Nevermind, found it. And thanks for all your help again 😃

njvc,
These look amazing! A huge thank you in advance for even doing this and even more for making them available.

I’ve asked for a MySpleen invite in the dedicated thread, but are there any other ways to download these?

any recomendations on a good image burning software for mac ?

I believe macOS comes with a built-in utility. I think it’s called “Disk Utility” but I’m not 100% sure of that.

New here but desperate to get a copy of this to see the films as I remember them originally. Anybody able to provide a link or help to get them?

Thanks,
