You know, for some awful reason, this thread reminds me of Jimbo...
Which is the more foolish, the fool (the OT) or the fool who follows (the PT)?

davis here is another tip, but again you need to be very careful about when about how you do this. and start doing it only after you guys are more then aquatences. make fun of her in very small but nice ways.

e.g. what ill do with one of my friends is if ever i am talkin about something small, i might add into the sentence, its small jsut like you. then she will be all taken aback and be like 'mee small' and after that you just have to go with the flow there, be like well you are pretty small, then do things by trying to turn it into something that doesnt matter by saying something like ' being small isnt a bad thing...' this can be a very fun thing to do for both of you if your not super nervous that is the only time to even try to do it.

asking her for cofee would be a great thing to do.

and everyone is right get those pic off the net asap. I dont think bossk wanted you to actually put them up.

No, I didn't really want you to repost the photos. She may not be on this site, but someone else who knows her may be. Don't run the risk.

When are you going to ask?

Hot Rod is a stoner and already has a kid anyway. Pay him no mind. Just remember that no girl is 'hawt' enough to make up for having an unatractive personality.

awww hell i crashed the party too late & missed the pics....

but please dont repost them ...dont wanna get you in to trouble...

theres some good advice here.......i think we all could have done with advice like that during our school life (hell im 30 & still read with interest )

im not even going to repeat some of the excellent tidbits that have been offered except to say...

what have you got to lose? you dont know her now so if shes not interested you might gain a friend....or a girlfriend...

definitely ask her out for coffee its an excellent icebreaker...but don't rush things.....you might want a couple of pseudo-dates first of all..dont expect to get kissing on the first or second date - use this time to suss her out....you might find her personality unattractive, but i cant stress enough DONT RUSH THINGS......girls like to be romanced...the worst thing you can do is come across like a desperate bunny-boiler (im talking from experience here )

good luck & let us know how things go

Speaking as someone who did most of his dating after highschool, and was well acquianted with getting hurt: Be cautious. A girl going into college (assuming she's going to college) in the fall will have lots of opportunities ahead, and when she's in the middle of a conversation with her friends about their boyfriends there will be akward moments when they say "Yeah, I'm dating this guy from the frat house down the road" , or "I'm dating a law student" then "Well, my boyfriend's a junior in high-school still...". It doesn't feel good to hear this, I know. But you've got to be realistic, meaning that a short term relationship may be viable, however in a year or two after you've invested your heart and soul into the relationship, the lightbulb may go on in her head and she may think she wants something different. It'd be different if she was younger than you. I don't mean to be blunt, but I've had this knife plunged into my heart before.

While what JediSage says may, in some cases, be true, don't let it discourage you, Davis. She may not be like "all the others." You still gotta go for it, man.

Yes, but there are a few specific DONT'S when taking a girl to a Star Wars film:

* Don't ask her to camp out with you at the line for two weeks.

* Don't go on and on about some battlestation's technical data and firepower, stuff that only you memorized.

* Don't go on and on about how "Greedo didn't shoot first".

* No, she dosen't want to see it again.

* Avoid dressing up as Bobba Fett.

* Don't make malicious jokes about your "lightsaber".

* No, she won't go in a Leia's metal bikini outfit.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Davis, I won't say I'm older and wiser, but I will say I'm older and have been there. You have two things going for you: 1. She knows your name. She has taken the time to get to know something about you. Unless she has a photographic memory or you are a celebrity, this took a little effort on her part. 2. You have already had a conversation with her, so it would not be totally out of the blue. You should ask her out. If she rejects you, you feel bad for a little bit, but she goes away to college and you don't have to see her anymore. Even if she tells the school what a geek you are, the embarrasment will go away in a few days. Regret can stay with you for a lifetime. Imagine 10-15 years down the line. You are still single and wondering what could have been or you are married and maybe the marriage doesn't have the same fire it once did and you are still wondering about this girl you knew in high school. Regret is a powerful thing.
Also, someone mentioned about when she goes off to college. Yes, that may present a problem, but she could go and see all the guys at college are jerks compared to you. If you ask her out, you can get her phone number and you can find out where she will be staying at college. You can call her or send her a letter every few weeks just to let her know you are thinking of her and that makes her think of you and what a nice and thoughtful guy you are. Some long distance relationships work. Her being two years older may seem like a big deal in high school and college, but it is not a big deal in the real world.

My intent was not to frighten anyone, or say this girl is or is not like other girls. However, I will say that situations like this remind me of the line in "Men in Black", where Will Smith says "Well, you know what they say, tis better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all", to which Tommy Lee Jones says "Try it". All I'm saying is be cautious. That's all.

His friend suggests, "Take her out to see the latest movie, then go to a nice dinner, and finally take her for a drive up the mountains. Find a secluded spot, park the car, look her in the eye and say 'put out, or get out.' This works every time for me."

The guy thinks this is a good plan, but then again, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer either. Anyways, he picks up the girl, they have a great time at the movie, a wonderful dinner, and she has a sparkle in her eye when he suggests they drive up the mountains.

After finding a secluded spot, the guy parks the car, looks the girl in the eye, and says, "Get out, or I'll put you out."

(P.S. This is not good advice for a first date. )

I'm not trying to take anything away from you. I was just reinforcing new comments as they were posted. I did the same with Jay's. However, your comments about regret came well before I even discovered this thread. Sorry, man.

Listen to MBJ, he knows of what he speaks!
