I have caved…I’m pitiful, I regret what I’ve done. I couldn’t find my VHS copies of the 97 spec eds last night, and I’m craving SW, so I bought the widescreen DVD this afternoon. SIGH

I know, I know... I'm pitiful. I was remarking to my friend how the movies of GL and Spielberg have a hold on those of us who grew up during that time. I know the changes are AWFUL, but I just can't break away.

Regarding the LDs: My wife has strict instructions to sell them in the event of my demise...if it happens before 07, she's to wait until the new boxed set comes out. After that, she can do as she wishes...

Oh, that's a relief.


Still, one or two people not buying the DVDs would solve little, since too few people know or care about the changes. They aren't really that bad.

Except for ANH. The comentary is pretty much Lucas whining about how bad his budget was while the SFX guys give intersesting but old news and useless info and Carrie Fisher talks about how stoned she was. But the video quality is the best I've ever seen on any movie period.


And as of this post, I am officially a Jedi Council member!!

Put it this way, I'm on the lookout for a reasonably priced 128b ATI All-in-Wonder card with capture ability. For myself, of course.

Out of my curiousity, have you tried eBay? One thing I've noticed lately is that if there's a shortage of sets being sold separately, people are selling them together with the actual LD players...

Well, I've got a loooong way to go, as I'm in the middle of buying a new house and possibly on the way to a new job, so it'll be a while before I can do anything. I'll let you know if/when I get it done.
