I’m hoping some of you guys might be able to help me out. I’m trying to download Harmy’s Despecialized Editions but it appears as if tehParadox has been shut down! Does anybody have any idea how to get around this, or another possible site to download from?? Also, i’m not completely sure what version the Despecialized Editions are up to now, so any of you guys who know more about it than me (which is probably all of you!!) a bit of info on that would also be greatly appreciated!

tehParadox is not gone. Its still there.

Is it? I’m seeing a 500 Internal Server Error.

I got that and then refreshed and it was fine. Not just cached, as the search function is working.

Their servers generally seem to be a little rocky. Although, compared to myspleen, they’re pretty much as reliable as Google.

You can mount ISO files natively within Windows 10 (not sure about Windows 7 or 8): right click on the ISO and simply select “Mount”.

The ISO then appears in the list of drives “attached” to the PC; VLC can open such an AVCHD drive as a Blu-ray disc.

(It is also possible to look inside the drive with Windows Explorer, and copy anything useful found inside.)

I use WinCDEmu in Windows 7. Works like a champ for mounting ISO files.

Hi dudes…i found an error on the Spanish Castilian audio.

in 1:16:42 to 1:19:47 the spanish audio it’s not castilian, it’s Latin from Latinamerica.

In Spain, this fragment of the film was dub on castilian.

Hi there! I just learnt about the new versions but I am a newbie on how to get the propper files to enjoy the new trilogy versions at home. Can anyone help me? I need the correct nzb file for the DVD9 versions. (As I work on a Mac I can’t run any .exe files neither) Thank you and may the force be with us!

On NZBKing, search for “despecialized AVCHD” and Towne32’s 2.7 version of Star Wars is the top hit. All parts are there, so it should download fine.

Hi gamexl!

Did you ever get any help from anyone?

I’m not sure why you would need an nzb file, even using a Mac.

Once you have the links to all the rar files, it’s just a matter of downloading them with a download manager (for speed’s sake) and extracting them.

Can you give some more details on what step it is in the process of downloading and extracting that giving you problems?

Hey roguejedha!

Tehparadox seems to be working fine for me.

But just so you know there’s another way to get to the links. HanDuet posts on a supplemental google doc to TUIG that will give you access to all the urls you need without having to use Tehparadox. He makes no guarantee that they will always be current, but they are all up to date as of the time of this post.

Here’s the link to that page: https://goo.gl/5Sif60

As for versions, they are up to the following:

Star Wars: 2.5 (or 2.7 if you go with Towne32’s edit)
Empire Strikes Back: 2.0
Return of the Jedi: 2.5

Hope that helps!

Hi guys, i really appreciate all the effort you all made to do this edition,
i have a few question (pls dont see me like noob, i’m a noob on this about versions x.x and those things hahaha)…my question is about “A New Hope” there’s the v2.5 and v2.7 ( I downloaded the v2.7) so, is there something special in the v2.5 that me as a star wars fan must have or with the v2.7 i have everything like corrections and other technical issues that the v2.5 have?..for my last question there will be more fixes more versions? for me the v2.7 is beautiful and complete, i dont have to worry or me as a fan have to download the v2.5 to get something special? what about RETURN OF THE JEDI - GRINDHOUSE 35mm LPP? i have it in the RETURN OF THE JEDI - DESPECIALIZED EDITION v2.5?

sorry for my english and thanks again 😃

Thanks everyone for all of your help. I have both the AVCHD and MKV files for Empire Strikes Back Despecialized. I have also downloaded VLC player and watched the MKV file. So we’re all good there. What I’m trying to do now is import into Premiere Pro.

Premiere Pro does not recognize the MKV file, so I’ve been trying to convert it to MP4 with the VLC player. The status bar will go damn near until the end, but then it will freeze with a minute left, or sometimes as little as 13 seconds left. I pulled up the message box and it gives me a bunch of mux warnings for the entire conversion process, with the occasional debugs, but then at the end there is a whole list of debugs that pop up and everything stops.

If I go into my folders, I have a converted MP4 file, but it doesn’t play or read in anything.

Help converting this and importing to Premiere Pro? Thank you!

Try muxing to an m2ts instead (tsMuxer is the easy option here). But be warned, it’ll be sluggish as heck - Premiere doesn’t handle h.264 all that well. You’d be better off converting to lossless (e.g. Lagarith) for anything serious.

That or just demux it using tsmuxer.

It depends entirely on your system, but you’re right that it doesn’t handle it nearly as well as a lossless file. H264 isn’t too terrible in Premiere if it’s only 720p, at least for me.

Sometimes I’m not sure if people remember to read before posting…

In case you needed clarification, nzbs are usenet files. Much like a torrent file, they can be loaded into a usenet reader/downloader program, and the program will download the file and (usually) unpack it. Usenet has the advantage of saturating your download bandwidth, unlike torrents which only download at the speed of the connected peers’ allowed upload bandwidth.

Oh sorry. I missed that because it was at the top of the next page of the thread. I didn’t notice that it was up to 610 and responded directly from the OP.

As for the nzbs, thanks for the info. I was thinking that since gamexl said they were a “newbie”, they might be thinking torrents were the only way to get the DE and/or be having trouble with that method of acquisition. But I apparently misunderstood.

It will be quite some time before they are released, so it depends on how soon you want to burn a copy.
