Generation X made and raised most of millennials. When an atrocity is made, you naturally blame the perpetrators, not the atrocity.
Not exactly true, Millennials were mostly made and raised by the Baby Boomers. Gen-X is responsible for the Plurals. They overlap like that.

But who calls them that? They were always called VCRs, nobody called them VHS players. Hell, most people didn’t even call them VHS tapes, it was just a tape or video, Betamax tapes were Beta, nobody got confused. It just sounds stupid.
What really cracks me up was when I had a young guy correct me from saying VCR to VHS player. That’s just wrong.

All the things you mentioned that annoy you are traits of late Millennials, which are almost entirely a responsibility of Gen-X. Early Millennials, which are responsibility of Baby Boomers, experienced VCR players and they usually know old films (seen them on TV) as internet was not so common at the time.
Gen-X seems to be incapable of raising up kids properly. That is not only useless, but also harmful to the society.
