Sorry for my noobish post, I’m new to this forum. I could not find download links in the first page. Where can I find it?

Same here. Sorry, not trying to be annoying or step on toes if there’s a secret legality loophole with finding links, but I finally talked my wife into watching the trilogy with me and I’d love to have these downloaded so I can show her before we see Rogue One this weekend.

This is a thread for the blu-rays, which don’t seem to be as widely available. Instructions for finding Harmy’s versions, which are on said blu-rays, can be found in his threads or his Facebook page. Perhaps a better bet if you’re in a time squeeze.

Off topic, but the first film is all you really need to show her before R1. 😃

Thanks for the info. I already have all the latest Harmy MKV releases. I’m planning to make my own customized box, so I must redownload it as DVD or DVD9, and then burn them on discs, right? Whats the best way to do it quality-wise?

You’re right, these don’t have menus 😦

Any chance someone can PM me the link to the torrent for njvc’s version here?

The link was still helpful, and thank you for that!

The njvc stuff seems pretty hard to come by…

The reply was really geared towards the other poster who wanted to see it by this weekend and therefore didn’t need documentaries on a disc, etc.

But if you have the MKV, you can convert it to blu-ray without re-encoding. Just use tsmuxer (gui). It won’t have a menu or anything, but neither would a DVD9 version.

If you only have a DVD burner, yes, you’ll need the DVD9 (AVCHD) download, and a blu-ray player that is compatible with AVCHD.

To those asking for links, I’m a bit behind on replying to requests. Will send those out later today.

I have just discovered the existence of these despecialized editions. I greatly appreciate and cherish the work you all have done. What can I do to obtain these editions so I can experience the trilogy how originally viewed them at the age of 7 ?

That’s right, I only have a DVD burner. It’s sad that I’ll have to download everything again, but it will be worhtwhile. I’ll be working on it in the first weeks of 2017.

I have been spending a good chunk of time browsing the thread and getting to know all the work that has gone into this project. Question: I Have read “mypleen” being dropped a few times. What exactly is it and how do I gain access? Do I have to be invited?

No, it’s free for anybody. You’re probably already a member and just don’t remember signing up. Anybody can register easily and start downloading. Hasn’t all the threads here made that clear?

I bought a Bluray burner and burned one of the njvc .iso files that I got off myspleen. I used ImgBurn and had “Verify” checked, and during the verify process, got a ton of “Miscompare at LBA” errors.

I eventually aborted the verify process and let the disc eject, but the disc I burned seems to work flawlessly in my PS4. I’m burning a set for a friend for Christmas, and I would like to make sure I’m sending him something that will work in his stand-alone bluray player as well.

Anyone know what the “Miscompare at LBA” errors mean, and if they will matter in the long run? Google seems to be split, with many people telling me to ignore them, and others saying the disc wont last long.

Any advice, or a place I should look for some? Thanks!

Oh, I didn’t even think of the brand as being a problem. They’re Optical Quantum.

Is that bad?

I can’t express how happy I am right now. By some chance, I came across an article today discussing the reworks that were made to the original trilogy to get them up to Blu-ray quality. It’s what brought me here. I grew up watching these movies in theaters. I was too young to remember seeing star wars at the drive-ins with my parents but that wasn’t the case for the rest in theaters.

During those years, it was these movies that brought my best friend and I together. I have so many fond memories of my best friend and I going to see TESB as kids. I recall us being in such awe of the effects and vivid scenes as we watched the movie so intently, and I recall leaving the theater playing out the lightsaber fight scenes as we walked out and being so disappointed that we had to wait for the next movie to come out.

When ROTJ came out the excitement was on high again and it was so apparent that an article was written about it and was featured on a local paper. We had been waiting in a very long line to watch the movie with toys in hand, and us playing out lightsaber scenes again. A reporter had been there to write about the movie release and about the fans in the long line; it’s where he happen to see us playing. He used our story for the article in which he touches on the fact that my friend and I came from very different cultural backgrounds and yet this movie brought us closer together and how oblivious we were to our differences because of it; my friend Rason was from African American descent. About a year or two after ROTJ was released I had to move far away and in the process I lost contact with my friend. I have reminisced so much of those times since then.

I’m an old guy now and in very poor health now. I’ve been hoping and praying for so long that lucas would eventually put out the original trilogy in a SHD format, and not ones with the new CGI scenes that I have now which don’t compare. For me to get and watch these originals before I meet my demise is all I’ve ever really wanted. When I got here and saw that these films were remastered, and when I got to see some of the screen shots, I won’t lie, it brought tears to my eyes. Longer story short, I’m here now and I just signed up for an account.

I’m begging, if not pleading that one of you please provide me with links to the movies mentioned with all the features included. I’d also be willing to pay good money if someone can provide them already on working high end Blu-ray disks with all the box art work. This will also give me the opportunity to pass them on to my son. Hopefully he and I can build some memories from these movies too. I apologize for this lengthy post but I hope you will understand and see the urgency in this for me to get these movies as soon as I can. A very very big Thank You goes out to those involved in remaking these films! I really can’t express my gratitude to all of you just as I really can’t express my anger toward lucas for not releasing the original films in high quality. It’s really unfortunate that fans had to take it upon themselves to do this, but I really thank you for it!

I am really touched by this.

Try getting in touch with HanDuet in Facebook.

He often does giveaways for MySpleen invites.

I could’ve given you an invite as a Christmas gift but sorry, I can’t since I am only a regular user there and I need to wait a while to become a Power User, which then I can give you an invite.

Merry Christmas, and for your quest to find the Despecialized Editions, good luck and may the Force be with you.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

Just an update incase anyone else is having a similar issue. I don’t know exactly what it is that was interfering with the burning, but I did finally get to where I could burn perfect disks by booting Windows in Safe Mode and burning them there. Out of Safe Mode all I was making were coasters, but in Safe Mode they are verifying perfectly every time.

For reference, the disks are Optical Quantums (which I hear now might kind of suck) and the burner is an LG WH14NS40, firmware version 1.02.

Ever since the release of Rogue One, I feel in love with Star Wars again. I’ve been searching through my basement just to find out that I still have the box set of the DVD “limited edition” release of the original theatrical cut only to find out that it is super grainy and does not fit my tv aspect ratio properly. Even pressing zoom the the TV does not do it justice since I know that the picture is slightly cut off. As a child of the 90’s I grew up watching Star Wars trilogy on VHS and have both THX version and Special Edition version. Growing older, I learn to realize the importance and appreciate how George Lucas had created the movie oringally even though he claimed that it was “incomplete” but to see that true hard work was put into the movie with using only practical effects as we can coin the term these days. Now movies these days are taking the turn for CGI and rarely do they ever come out with movies that have practical effects. I want to experience the original trilogy again but this time the way how it was originally released and how technology would clean up the picture and show how it was truly meant to be shown, not with all the added or edited scenes but knowing that “Han shot first” or the true effects of the late 70’s and 80’s. If someone out there is reading this, I hope that you’ll be able to share the experience and it would definitely make my holiday a great one!

Is it possible to get the ISOs for the blu rays somewhere?

Same goes for me. I have been saving up some money and I’be very happy to make myself a Blu-ray set of the original trilogy the way it’s supposed to be watched as a Christmas gift. Can anyone either provide me with the links for this amazing edition or a MySpleen invite (if they can be downloaded from there, of course)?

This original post summed up all of my feels and the response shows how those that have been able to re-experience the original trilogy want to share the feeling with others. 😃. I still own the VHS copy of the trilogy which and viewed them with my wife as we neared the release of force awakens. Currently I am working on downloading and creating a physical set of the trilogy and surprising my wife with it. The passion and attention to this project is astonishing and has opened my eyes to not only to this despecializing but also the other fanedits i have discovered on this site. I have obtained the megaupload links to the bluray isos but do you guys have any other sources or other projects I can check out? I understand myspleen accounts are rather exclusive by invite so i am not expecting anything like that due to the infancy of my history on here but I am even open to articles and and blog posts that highlight the culture of this community.

I stumbled upon the Despecialized Editions yesterday after some inquisitive Googling. My husband and I had just watched a couple of docs on Netflix about behind the scenes of Star Wars and he was bemoaning the fact that he could no longer watch the Star Wars movies that he had watched as a kid (he remembers going to the theater two days in a row with his godfather when he was six to see the Empire Strikes Back). I, myself, have never seen the unedited versions.

We are both absolutely blown away by the dedication, passion, and creativity of those who are involved with restoring these films. The work you all have done is absolutely mind-blowing and I cannot thank you enough.

I’m currently downloading the MKV files, but would absolutely love to get access to this BlueRay set so I can put together a box set to give to my husband for his birthday. If someone would let me know how to go about doing that, I would be extremely grateful!

Hello there, I just wanted to ask, what exactly is MySpleen? And why is it required for this site? I am really new to this forum (like, I signed up today-new) and have no idea what I have to do. Could someone please explain it to me? Thanks in advance!
