If we could get a film with Rogue One’s brain and TFA’s heart, we’d have a perfect late period Star Wars movie. Here’s lookin’ at you, Rian.
This is really what it boils down to for me… This film does not treat the audience like some kind of thicko.
It respects it’s audience that it can actually think. Whilst it does have heart because you do feel for the characters when they pop their cloggs.
When Han died in TFA it was just oh ok they killed him bye Han… the way it was done I never felt anything.
In Rogue one I did feel something for the characters so Rogue One at least for me wins on both counts.
Although it would always be nice to get more character development Rogue One used it’s screen time ever so well, and you can’t fault it for achieving so much in such a small space of time with an ensemble cast I think.
There are further layers to the story that have been shaved off… So you will have to buy the Novel to the film or the Graphic novel for those if you want to know what was cut back on character development.
I am Glad to say this won’t be my last trip to see a Star Wars movie under new Disney they won me back on this one.
Willheim screen when Jyn takes the gun and pushes the storm trooper off the ledge on EADU.
A mate I went with was “Bothered” by Vaders Neck piece that seems to be sticking out so yeah weird costume issue.
Why did General Raddus suddenly become a CGI Raddus now there’s a curiosity and I wish it could have remained his puppet version throughout the film.
