Just got back from seeing Rogue One and it was excellent! 😄 For all the people out there Cassian definitely shoots that one guy in the back at the beginning of the movie. As a matter of fact there’s no question about it, it’s as clear as day. I only have a few minor nitpicks. Darth Vader’s cape was a bit too big, Dr. Evazan’s nose looked too big and Ponda Baba’s head looked a little too big. There also wasn’t enough of Moroff in the film and when we do see him he’s out of focus most of the time. This film does look extremely luscious and I’ll be rewinding and playing back that Darth Vader scene at the end of the movie several times on each home viewing. The way that Vader mows those rebels down at the end was so perfectly done. 😄 He just destroys them all with such elegance and grace. This Star Wars film works so perfectly in showing us that the rebellion isn’t always the good guys on the white horses. Disney sure has some balls in having a Star Wars movie where no one makes it out alive and in bringing Peter Cushing back from the dead and also bringing back a young Carrie Fisher. The cgi on Tarkin was good while Leia’s cgi was perfect. I’m going to have to watch this fine film multiple times of course and I’m sure I’ll love it more with each viewing.
