No, you didn’t miss anything except the Dunkirk preview, which was terrific. Blowing Alexa 65 (6K) up to IMAX looks surprisingly bad, especially when compared to TFA’s 35m, or strikingly, 35 and 65mm segments in a Christopher Nolan film.
The blacks were grey, the colour was very subdued and quite muddy at times, and there was a heavy amount of digital grain. It seems like blockbusters are embracing celluloid releasing in a big way, which is good, but they need to realise that if they do, their first priority must be to shoot on film.
