Bail Organa is the only Prequel trilogy Cameo in Rogue One… Breathes sigh of Relief

The Running Time may have suddenly Lept up to 2 hours 18 Minutes as opposed to the given (2 hours and 14 approx.)

also

Peter Sciretta - @slashfilm Theres an amazing amount of footage/dialogue in the #RogueOne trailers and marketing that are not in the film, including Troopers in water.

I’m actually a bit sad they did’nt get Liam Neeson for a bit part…

Apparently “I rebel” has been excised from the film. Good riddance to that cringe moment I say.

Similar to the Force Awakens a lot of the dialogue in the trailers probably will not be in the movie.

I’m guessing “Save the Rebellion, Save the Dream” will probably be gone too. Or it will be in a different form.

It’s now time to stop looking at stuff I think… At least for me. Going to wait until I go to the cinema and see it.

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!

I AM SO EXCITED 😃

I’ve avoided this thread and the majority of the ROGUE ONE trailers for quite a while now, but I thought I’d just pop in to add these other early (‘spoiler’-free) ROGUE ONE premier articles to the fun. Things are looking good for it, it seems. 😃

“Celebrities and fans cheered throughout the end credits of the film, which has a running time of 2 hours and 18 minutes.” Those are some really long credits! 😉

George’s old flame might’ve said it best:

Nice… What a sorry state I am though I am addicted to this film… I wanted to drop this one for a laugh and it may help stave off looking elsewhere if you need a content cushion.

Notice the medical droid in the Background in the secret base on Jedha…(21B look alike with a different paint job)

Saw’s Leg…(Pun Intended!)

There is a whole bunch of interviews released with all the cast and crew nothing particularly ruining or any massive spoilers so it’s a relatively safe watch with a few giggles and a lot of people patting each other on the back but it’s something that you can watch that is not going to ruin the film.

There is a list of them here.

Can’t recall if the alleged track listing for the soundtrack album has been discussed here.

  1. He’s Here For Us
  2. A Long Ride Ahead
  3. Wobani Imperial Labor Camp
  4. Trust Goes Both Ways
  5. When Has Become Now
  6. Jedha Arrival
  7. Jedha City Ambush
  8. Star-Dust
  9. Confrontation on Eadu
  10. Krennic’s Aspirations
  11. Rebellions Are Built on Hope
  12. Rogue One
  13. Cargo Shuttle SW-0608
  14. Scrambling the Rebel Fleet
  15. AT-ACT Assault
  16. The Master Switch
  17. Your Father Would Be Proud
  18. Hope
  19. Jyn Erso & Hope Suite
  20. The Imperial Suite
  21. Guardians of the Whills Suite

I am absolutely losing it over that last track. I remember being nine years old or so and bored spending a night at my grandparents’ house and coming across my mom’s paperback copy of the novelization from 77 and being so baffled and intrigued by that fleeting reference at the beginning. If they’re actually going to explain the Whills onscreen, this film could be a way more significant event in my personal history as a Star Wars fan than I ever expected it would.

Hi.

i noticed something.
And i have a bad feeling about this.

In the “Rogue One - Death Star Trailer” you can see two laserbeams of the death star.

Finished listening to the Catalyst audio book. Very solid. Love the Krennic/Erso dynamic. Will be interesting to see where the story goes from here because honestly (besides some guesses) I have very little idea (have yet to see a single second of footage from the film).

Dave Chen of Slashfilmcast fame was just broadcasting live on twitter to share his spoiler-free thoughts on the movie now that the embargo has been lifted.

He mentioned that there are two cgi characters who look “terrible” from a vfx standpoint and singled one out as looking especially bad.

It only took me a few seconds to figure out that the character he must be talking about is Tarkin.

That’s disappointing to hear, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Bringing back Peter Cushing with computers just never sounded like a good idea.

On the other hand, I’m now very intrigued as to who this other cgi character is.

I would think CGI recreations of an actor’s head would have progressed since Tron Legacy was made in 2010. I have no idea who Dave Chen is or why I should value his opinion though. 😉
I do know who the other CGI recreation is.

De-aged Anthony Hopkins was more than passable on Westworld, and they did that with a fraction of Rogue One’s budget. My guess is that the real problem is that they overuse Tarkin. The tech is definitely there to pull off this kind of thing in brief segments.

Looking at the incoming reviews they seem fairly positive on the whole with quirks and some of the same complaints mentioned.

This is going to be a bit of a divide on people reviewing it as any other film or as a “Star Wars” film.

Not saying some complaints won’t be accurate but I have seen some ludicrous statements and opinions. And some that seem relevant and fair.

I am pretty glad about the scores at the moment because the Reviews TFA got it almost was made out to be the best film made ever and for me it was totally hyped beyond what it was but It was not awful I was totally captivated the first 40 minutes.

But then I also fear that If the score is Low then it might be worse and the scores are being lenient… But something tells me that is not going to be the case. I have a feeling this will go the other way have quite an uncomfortable start and then things gradually become right which is a far better scenario than what I felt at TFA if I am honest.

But Shakey Start and Strong Ending do very much seem to ring true from a lot of comments. Anyway time will tell when we see it.

Rogue One is probably going to take a lot of flack for not being like an episode of the saga proper, which it’s not trying to be in the first place. The story films are going to have stand or fall on their own merits.

And I imagine the box office on this is going to determine the fate of any other story films that haven’t been officially announced.

I haven’t looked at any review in particular, but it sounds like people still aren’t quite understanding what R1 was supposed to be in relation to the timeline.

He’s in several scenes. And, IMHO, it looks great. However, it’s certainly not perfect. I had more of a problem with the voice work than the CGI. It doesn’t totally sound like him.

I would assume he means Leia.

Really? I thought they had a good Cushing sound alike when Tarkin appeared on TCW. I don’t know who’s voicing him on Rebels as I haven’t seen those episodes.
