Looks like PlayOn is an option, but it requires a $2.50/month subscription billed annually (so $30), and honestly I’m just not up for that. If someone else wants to get or already has a PlayOn subscription, I’d be happy to record the movie using my HBO Now account.

Just get the Lifetime subscription. It’s a bit more, but it doesn’t expire, and is on sale fairly regularly.

Yes, but this is for a service which I will never again use, and that I will be using to record a movie I don’t actually care to watch again.

I say again that I’m perfectly willing to do the recording, I just can’t pay for it.

HBO website states that ‘Jurassic World’ will be available only till 1/12/2016. That is just 12 days remaining. Has anybody captured the open matte streaming till now, please reply. After that date it’d be almost impossible to stream.

@zxthehedgehog, you said you were backing it up. Any updates for us? Please let us know. Thanks.

UPDATE: I have, using PlayOn, captured the HBO Now open matte version of Jurassic World, and the results are honestly a little meh. PlayOn did great, though; the recorded version is indistinguishable (to my eyes) to the actual stream when put side by side, and the whole movie came out to just 2.88 GB.

I’m disappointed in the streaming quality offered by HBO Now, honestly. It’s really dang rough. I don’t really understand, honestly, as HBO Now usually looks great on my PS4. Perhaps the quality is limited on browsers?

EDIT: after some review, it looks like PlayOn might not have recorded the highest-quality available stream from HBO Now, so I’m giving it another go. I’ll keep you all updated on my progress. I think whatever happens, I’ll have to watch the finished product all the way through to make sure it didn’t swap streams in the middle. Basically, PlayOn just screencaps the video.

This will most likely be the same open matte version. Sky HD has previously aired all the earlier Jurassic Park films in open matte 1.78:1. Those in the UK can have a look and compare, maybe take a few screenshots.

Sky’s version is not the open matte version unfortunately, was also disappointed they didn’t get Spectre in open matte either like they did with SkyFall, hopefully ITV will when they show it (with logo though) as they’ve shown all previous Daniel Craig Bond’s open matte.

x5gb, not to worry, Colson is working on the open matte version already. FX channel will also air JW mid to late 2017. Though I don’t know whether it’ll be open-matte or cropped.
Jurassic World will also be shown on HBO2 on November 28 at 11:35pm. This will probably be open matte as well.

“Spectre” was shot primarily in anamorphic 35mm, with some digital and Super 35. http://the007dossier.com/007dossier/post/2016/01/02/Capturing-007s-Icy-Cool-in-Spectre has the AC article but haven’t re-read it so I don’t remember how specific they get regarding scenes they did non-anamorphically.

Scenes shot with the Red Dragon, Alexa XT, Alexa65, VistaVision and some super 35mm portions were spherical. But I don’t know which scenes they are specifically. Anyway, moving on.
