To make an AOTC theatrical version, the original marriage shot is needed (more info here: http://www.dvdactive.com/editorial/articles/star-wars-the-changes-part-four.html) - Centropy SVCD seems the only available source, and it’s really terrible - not possible to use it in any project, I suppose.

So, I thought that, with a lot of patience and good skills, it’s possible to make a reconstruction - well, sort of… I tried with just MSpaint and a picture of the actual mechanical hand used on the set; result is nice, even if not perfect and different from the theatrical version, but it’s a start…

comparison: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/191552 - note that I moved (badly) a bit the floor, as it’s clear that it was changed during the “restoration”…

It’s always possible to find another image to use, or adapt the existing ones; for the rest of the shot - where there is the pan, Padmé’s hand could be “cut&pasted” from previous frames, or use the actual frame, select and rotate it… well, a good graphic designer surely knows how to do it!

The thing I can do to help is to provide the PNG images of the mixed HDTV versions - that should be better than the BD; the original shot for reference; some mech hand images of the actual prop used on the set.

Anyone crazy enough to accept the mission?
