Yeahhhh… not sure I’d be clicking any of those links haha.

In other news, I’m definitely more hyped for Rogue One than I am for Episode VIII. Mostly for nostalgia reasons.

And that’s not to say I’m not super hyped for Episode VIII.

See, I feel the opposite way. My nostalgia’s more focused on VIII, because Luke Skywalker is in it and I’ve been wondering about him for decades. Rogue One’s got all the superficial trappings of nostalgia, but my brain is still registering it as an unknown quantity.

Also, I’d love to hear the argument for reading Catalyst before RO.

I’m about a hundred pages in and I’m still not sure what it’s going to bring to the table in terms of plot-related information, but I can say that I’ve become very invested in the Galen Erso and Orson Krennic characters. I’d recommend it if you’re at all worried about feeling unmoored in this landscape of unfamiliar characters.

Interesting. I see X-Wings and Stormtroopers and Darth Vader and that’s plenty for me, haha.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Don’t get me wrong, that stuff gets me fired up too, I just suspect that Rogue One won’t be “shaped” like a traditional Star Wars movie if that makes any sense, at least not as much as the ST. I’m not expecting it to scratch the same itches.

Don’t read a leaked script of Star Wars Episode VIII just wait until the movie is out next year.

By the way Han shot first.

Probably a fake script anyway. 😉

Nah, he found it on InfoScriptWars so I’m sure it’s legit.

I remember last year when I found a “leaked script” claiming that the opening was a flashback to ten years post-ROTJ where Leia died in battle. I read tons of “leaked” stories leading up to TFA because I knew they were fake and I could laugh at just how wrong they would end up being after I saw the real movie. Good times.

A book of bogus scripts, including the fake pages allegedly used on Empire and Jedi to keep loose lips at bay, would interest me. I don’t know of any other franchise for which so much fake material has been created, official and otherwise.

Apparently you didn’t follow the US Election over the past year.

That’s not a movie franchise. I used to see bogus scripts for other things at comic book cons in the early 90’s, but can’t recall anything other than ones for Star Wars.

I know. It was a semi-joke and semi-complaint about the state of misinformation on the internet, no matter the subject.

I concur. What’s happening with Shelley Duvall right now has unleashed an army of online idiots blaming Stanley Kubrick for her current mental health issues.

The J.J. commentary was a good listen. I only wish they had included another person, I always find it more entertaining when it’s a conversation rather than a solo-effort.*

*No need to make the Han joke unless you can come up with something really good.

Why include anyone other than J.J. since he’s the brains, sweetheart.

Well…I think there’s a pretty good argument to include Lawrence Kasdan the co-writer of The Force Awakens and writer of The Empire Strikes Back. I’d also love to hear from Kathleen Kennedy and her thoughts on bringing this all about. And then of course there’d be a lot of interest in a special commentary with Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. Heck, a commentary from the folks at ILM would be fascinating. Point is, the buck does not stop with Abrams.

whoosh

That’s the sound of the joke of Frink asking for a Han Solo joke, getting it, and Tobar missing it.
