Pretty much every theatrical version of each movie has a different font though… There’s no “right” font. The whole thing is stupid.

It needs to have the same starfield as the original opening crawl in VI, or just have no starfield (just black) so I can put it into the video. I would do this myself, but my stupid video editing program only has a perspective scroll that goes sideways (what the heck?)

It looks pretty good, Hans, but I don’t think the bottom five and a half lines are meant to be there. Also, the stars seem a bit too big and the original has always had a bit of a blue tint to it. Almost there though.

Hi hundsdorfex, I risk to be a little off topic because the edit I would like to do is recoloring the “Santino Jr” lost sequence reincorporated in the last Hal9000’s Godfather II revision (@fanedit forums).
As the colored scene before the black and white scene is quite similar, I though the best way was to make a clean background (thanks to all single assembled pieces of frame) in color to avoid recoloring each frame. Hence I would have at least a background colored sequence, and then the characters in darkness would be more quickly recolored.
I know there are several tips for advanced user like rotoscoping or automatic background replacing but I’m a total novice.
The entire B&W sequence is about 5 seconds long.
To put in a nutshell, my questions are :
- Is it possible (/or would be a big pain for a poor result 😉 ) ?
- What’s the best way to do it ? (video editor / image editor) ?

Hmm…that crawl on Vimeo definitely could be improved on. Come to think of it, I saw one on YouTube too, but nothing that looks authentic. They have either the wrong font, or odd formatting or something that could be done better.

I made some progress recoloring and upgrading the quality image in the background only.

oh boy oh boy they let me make an account finally
Do you mind making some opening crawls for me, but in the style of the ones of the Original Trilogy? I tried making the crawls myself, but it ended up looking wrong. Here’s some snapshots showing what I mean. I’m not 100% sure what the difference is, but I think maybe the font is bolded or something, and the crawl might be coming in at a different angle. Please do not add in the Starfield, and additionally, please make the crawl way too slow, like 5 minutes long. I want to put the Starfields in myself, and I want to synchronise the crawls to the music cue. Leave out the subtitle and episode number, it’s not possible to sync it up to the music cue if the crawl has either of those things, without it looking stupid, at least.
The texts are here. There’s no A New Hope or the Empire Strikes Back crawls because I’m just using Harmy for ANH, and using Harmy but covering up the Episode Number and Subtitle for ESB. There’s no the Phantom Menace crawl because I plan on removing the crawl, treating TPM like the anthology it is.
