Remember guys… if we’re coming down to minor brightness/contrast/saturation tweaks, all of those are easily adjustable on our video players or displays. What’s most important for Dr. Dre to get right is the levels between red blue and green (or yellow). (And he has clearly done that)
And it looks like from some of the discussion Dr. Dre, we’re finally coming down to the “light bulb” argument/discussion as people are splitting into the “colder/warmer” camps. I can almost foresee there being 4 separate versions of this project: Degrained/True White, Degrained/Warm, Grainy/True White, and Grainy/Warm.
But if we had to choose just one color correction (and I think really we should, LOL), my argument might sound counter intuitive but it would be for the true white version because adjusting warmth from that “center” is a lot easier to re-encode in “freebie” software than to go from yellow/orange to true white. It’s also a one-pass change to the entire film.
