I watched the entire first season of The Simpsons. I’ve only seen one of these episodes (Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire), because none of the TV channels I watch syndicate anything prior to Season 2. I liked all the episodes, and it was interesting to go back to the beginning of one of my favourite TV shows. It was funny to see prototypes of well known characters (black Smithers, white Lou, blonde Barney), and see that the tone certainly changed over the years. While these episodes were humourous, there was a lot more stuff about family values, and some gags that I think would have been played for laughs in later seasons were treated seriously in these. So yeah, it was cool to see the origin of one of the longest running shows on television. I might watch Season 2 now.
