Bossk, you know we're getting old when we both get the reference, Chaltab doesn't and you just barely beat me to the punch with essentially the same answer.

But do you remember G.I. Joe issues 27 & 28 ("The Origin of Snake-Eyes" parts 1 & 2)? Those were some great comics. Back when G.I. Joe was cool.

Hell yeah! They whole first couple of years were hot. After what, about issue 35-40 it became a little *too* toy advertisement-ish. I mean, yes they were toy ads but at least they were fun ones and Snake-Eyes, in black head-to-toe, will always rule!

PS: I still have my family trained to, whenever anyone says "And now I know..." to reply with:

c'mon Bossk! What is it???

But you haven't seen or read TMNT unless you read the original black and white 'mature audience' oriented comics series. That was one fun, mean comic!

And knowing is half the battle!!!!!

Don't worry, Gundark, Dayv, and I have used this phrase on the site before and confused more than our fair share of younguns.

Available in TPB? I've never read the original. Heck, I never read the newer ones or saw the movies.

Mature Audiences and TMNT don't mix. Turtles is about having fun and pizza, not vigilante.. stuff. Leave that to Batman and the Punisher. Or the Mangler Brohters!

It *used* to be, but I'm not sure if it is still in print. There was even a pretty cool RPG based on it (not video game, pen and paper RPG) at the time. At its core it was a parody of Frank Miller's (creator of 'Sin City') run of Daredevil from the 80s. Hence the ninja bad guys (originally people NOT robots), the Sensei named 'Splinter' (Daredevil was trained in martial arts according to Miller by a Sensei named 'Stick'... get it?). In fact, if any of you are familiar with the origin of Daredevil (in the comics at least) and the Turtles they are the same 'event'- Young Matt Murdoch was walking down the street when a small canister of radioactive goo gets thown from a vehicle and hits him across the eyes. In TMNT, the canister falls down a sewer grating and lands on four poor little discarded pet turtles and a rat... mutating them into... well, you know.

OK, I know *I'm* a geek...

It wasn't *too* mature, but gritty and funny.

CHALTAB, TMNT STARTED OUT AS A VIOLENT COMIC BOOK. IT WASN'T UNTIL EASTMAN AND LAIRD LILICENSED OUT THEIR PRODUCT (TMNT) THAT IT WAS CHANGED FOR KIDS.

BOSSK, I HAVE QUITE A FEW TMNT COMICS. I EVEN HAVE A REALLY NICE REPRINT OF ISSUE ONE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BORROW IT.

CHALTAB, ONE LAST COMMENT ON YOUR WRITING. A GOOD WRITER ALWAYS DOES HIS RESEARCH. DO SOME RESEARCH ON SNAKE EYES. YOU'LL THANK ME FOR IT.

AND KNOW YOU KNOW...

for some reason I just could never get into GI Joe.

GO Warbler!

As Warbler, I never really got into it. But I barely remember the show, because it was fading out in the wake of Turtle-mania when I watched it.

But RRS comes around rarely as of late.

BTW, I gave Dayv my address, so if I randomly stop showing up, then look for me to use the Kakapee pee code to let you know he killed me.

As much as I would like to borrow them, with all the crap I've got going on, I have no idea when I would be able to get around to reading them. And I hate holding on to people's stuff for too long. I always wind up feeling bad. Just like with OS X.3. I'm sorry about that one.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll hold off for now.
