Fuck. Yes. Buuuut I don’t think it would be fair to use that version of Anakin either because there are multiple stories preceding it that develop Anakin’s character. And before anyone says anything I remember that the Before The Awakening books exist but that is one book per character and Anakin was either at the end of his arc or was pretty damn close to it (in the case of LoE) while Finn, Poe, Rey and Kylo Ren are at the start of theirs. We still have so much to know about these new characters. Rian Johnson has stated recently that Episode VIII will be diving into the core of these characters and what motivates them. With that being stated I think it will only be fair to compare Anakin to the ST characters at the very least Episode VIII comes out.

I agree Anakin is better on TCW than in the PT but that is a very low bar. He is passable but honestly I find it hard to care for any of the characters in TCW. It’s a half-hour non-serialized kids show
This is all I ever found it to be as well. The praise it gets is something I’ll never understand.
I think mainly people feel the need to overpraise it to convince others that it’s not just a mindless kid’s show and/or more PT garbage but I think it can be pretty fun to watch.
I pretty much agree. AFAIK, I’m one of the youngest people on this site, and I watched the show religiously when it was new. I saw every episode on it’s first broadcast.
I only have clear memories of these two, episodes. I have vague memories of later episodes, but it was all just mindless action and spectacle to me (which was very appealing to 10 yr old me).

The first couple of seasons, especially the first, are all over the place in terms of when they take place in the timeline. But beginning around season three they really started to focus on keeping the series on a linear path through the war.
Also, the series is packed with character development. And it’s not just focused on the main characters.
We see a batch of clones from their first assignment through to the last days of the war.
Ahsoka throughout the entire series continued to grow and mature as the series went.
Even the villains were never stagnant but continued to grow and evolve as time passed. From Ventress to Maul and Savage, they all got their own story arcs devoted to them. Even a character like Hondo saw some growth throughout the series.
So I find claims that the series was non-serialized and lacked character growth to be outright laughable.

I have seen every single episode (and recently - all last year). Just because there was character growth and development doesn’t make the show character driven. Just because there were arcs doesn’t make the show non-serialized.
I’m not saying the show was completely lacking in character progression but it’s hard to care about them in the same way that you do about the Rebels group even (a core set of characters in every episode and much more serialized).
Don’t know what it says but pretty much all my favorite episodes are the clone-centric ones. They always nailed that.
At least the final three episodes of TCW put an end to the EU’s everyone-becoming-a-force-ghost nonsense and Darth Bane’s silly EU design.

Just because we don’t know information doensn’t mean that it doesn’t have the potential to be interesting.
Technically yes you’re right but it would create a disconnect to what Bane was in life and the apparition that spoke to Yoda on Korriban. I think they should have had him act like the Darth Bane in the Drew Karpyshyn books and changed the look to the Samurai inspired armor that’s in the show.
And I can tell you that TCW Bane believes in only training one apprentice so that his apprentices don’t gang up on him.
That’s the template for a character and pretty much what we got in terms of who the TCW Bane is a template for a Sith. Arrogant as hell, caring too much about people fearing him, stroking his ego about his accomplishments etc. If you took a random Sith mob from Knights of The Old Republic and it’s sequel and dressed them up in the same armor their personalities would be indistinguishable.

I had a thought while at work about when Rey saved Finn from the Rathtar and I remembered when she attributed him being released due to luck rather than by her hands and it’s one of those small things that makes me find her really likable.
