After R5 blows up on his way to the farm and Owen decides to take R2, there's a shot of R2 back in the line that has that very same red R5 in the frame. It's painted green in this edit to make it seem as though they brought out a totally different droid to supplant the exploded one, thus eliminating the continuity error.
