Had an idea to remove the awful ‘thermal detonator’ sequence. What if i just cut the entire ‘leia brings chewie in’ scene and assume leia and chewie had already been there for a while waiting for 3po and r2 to show up? Their plan was never properly explained properly anyway we just see it unfold so it’s not like it will contradict anything or make it any more confusing. Might even increase the mystery for anybody who watches my edit never having seen the movie. It might make it slightly confusing but losing the cheese of the detonator scene will help the tone so much I think it’s worth it.
