Hi Everyone,

I have been a lifelong Star Wars fan, and movie buff. I enjoy modding and updating retro tech, building props, and collecting 70/80s toys and video games. Ive been on a physical media spree lately, rebuying dvds, Blu-rays and vhs tapes. I enjoy watching movies in their original theatrical form, and collecting physical media that is out of print, or not available on streaming services.

I love watching and discussing movies, and look forward to being a part of the original trilogy community.

Hi, I’m Pete. I’ve been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember, although I can’t remember what age I was when I first saw Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back as a double bill at the cinema in the UK. I know they were released that way in 1980. But could I really have been only six? I know I already had some of the toys. Much has happened since then, both in my life and in a galaxy far, far away, but the original trilogy has always been part of my life, and some of the more recent stuff has continued to entertain me.

Hi everyone!

It’s not the Star Wars content that drew me in but I saw some posts of folks working on 35mm transfers of Kubrick films and decided to join in. That said I’m also appalled by the lack of availability of the original trilogy and fully support your cause.

Looking forward to reading some of the chats and supporting future projects.

Howdy gang. My name is Robert. Like all of you, I have been a Star Wars fan most of my life. I grew up watching the 1995 VHS release Star Wars trilogy at my grandparents house as a kid in the early 2000s. For the longest time I only watched Harmy’s Despecialized Editions and these were the ones I introduced my wife to the first time she watched the trilogy. As I have gotten older, Projects 4K77, 4K80, and 4K83 have become a bit of a fascination. These are the version I want to show my children one day. I was very intimidated with figuring out how to get them downloaded. I’m not as savvy as I once was, but I have finally decided to take my first step into a larger world

Hi all! I am glad to discover I am not alone!
I heard about the 4K77 some years back and remember thinking “there is hope”.
I was allways very nostalgic of the hours spent with my brother watching Empire on VHS over and over.
I don’t know if this version was altered but it certainly didn’t contain any 3D nonesense!
Not being able to acquire a “clean” version on the market allways puzzled me. Knowing that 4K80 is out there fills me with 8 year old pre christmas exitement!
Happy to be a (small) part of the nostalgic rebelion!
Cheers!

His name is Matt, and when he was 14 years old, he got in trouble for fighting at a local amusement park in Wichita, Kansas. His older brother, who saw that Matt had not started the fight but was merely defending himself, interceded. After the smoke cleared and everyone left the park, Matt’s brother sat with him in the car and said, “Hey, have you heard about this new movie called Star Wars?” So they went to see Star Wars (none of this “Episode I New Hope” rubbish, oh no, not in the summer of '77) and for Matt it was a transformative experience. This young boy, skirting up against puberty and feeling like an outcast, had always felt unable to find his tribe, but now he had now walked into a packed theater full of like-minded mad ones, and together they laughed and cried and cheered, sharing in an experience that was larger than life. Star Wars is not just a movie; it’s an historic milestone in the lives of its devotees.

Hi, I’m Max.
I still remember the originals and would love to watch them again. But I’m not here for that. I just want to warn you. George Lucas is going to be charged with murder and it’s all explained in this short educational video.

I hope you enjoy it and understand it doesn’t mean Star Wars isn’t great.

So happy to find this forum. Years ago I found the Harmy Despecialized HD versions and that’s what I’ve showed my kids. I have the original widescreen VHS and that’s the last time I was able to see the original trilogy. I just got a 4k set up and cannot wait to see the 4K originals.

Hey, friends! I’ve been a fan of Star Wars for most of my life at this point. Some of my earliest sad memories are when Luke struggles to walk with Anakin after he gets fried by Sidious, and Anakin wants his helmet off to see Luke with his own eyes, and Luke says, “But you’ll die.” Man…it just wrecked me.

Anyways…Star Wars and ILM started me down a path of loving movies and effects and the spectacle of cinema. The fan preservation, fan edit, and fan film efforts have just been an extension of that. It’s awe-inspiring to see how passionate the community has been to give time, energy, and money back to stoke the collective nostalgia and magic of our first time hearing the fanfare.

Well, that’s about it for my “Hello there!” See you out there!

Hello, I am new here.

I joined because I am trying to put together an Italian version of the Theatrical release of Amadeus.

Not sure whether the 4K version coming in may will make the effort useless…

Hey Everyone, My name is Christopher looking forward to checking the hard work of individuals here. I’m 50 and have a 2yr old son who may never see the real Star Wars. I’ve been a big fan of the original trilogy starting in 77.I remember warping my Beta then VHS tapes then having to buy another VHS set later. When DVDs came out I thought, “they’ll put the original OT soon”. Everyone else was re-releasing their stuff, why wouldn’t they. I eventually got the 2006 set. Then they cleaned the print up and released Blu-rays. “Why wouldn’t they clean up the Solo/Greedo scene and the other bits they altered through out the OT and release it as an over priced Super Special Ultimate Retro Edition???”, but they didn’t. So disappointed at Lucas, I was there since the beginning, how could you forget about me and millions of others. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going all antifa, I just couldn’t be leave it.
I’m here and looking forward to see who has the closest version of the OT. I’ve got so many copies already so I have plenty copies so I qualify.
Anyway, I’m glad to be here, thank you.

Hello Chris very good

Hello everyone, I am NaturalSelector89, I like video games, movies, tv shows, YouTube, music, guns, books and more.

I am sometimes active here, and sometimes not. I might make a fan edit one day, but I don’t know when.

If you have any suggestions for me, pm me. I have been in originaltrilogy.com before, but lost access to my old account, so here I am with this new account. I also had a YouTube channel, which I deleted back in 2012. Star Wars is one of my favorite movie series, I first watched sw in the 1990s. If you want to contact me, you can. But this is all I have to say for now.

I like movies, games, tv, YouTube, the internet…
