Hello there. New here and navigating around site. I get lost fast lol. I see alot here other than what Iām hunting for. Looking for the Star Wars 35mm downloads but I see other things. Everything I click on has a dead link š¦ not sure if Iām in right areaās or very old post.
Is this forum dead? I give up.

Dude - there are no download links on the site.

To use a quote Iāve seen around the place - āPatience - we must learn patienceā š and take the time to look around, read and take onboard the opening post in this thread, and also the links provided in it.
Weāre meant to put the effort into finding what we like from this amazing and vast collection of content ourselves - whether searching through the various Index threads, the pages of threads in the appropiate section of the site, using the search function, asking questions (or for some help) in the relevant threads when stuck - and then reading through the project or information threadsā¦

Plus, this appears in quite a few places on here:-
āWe are not pirates - and this is not a torrent or download site.ā

hello! new member. wanted to say hi. huge star wars fan my whole life. seeing the OT in theaters affected me deeply like all of you here feel as well. anyhow, i will be spending what time i can when i can poking around and trying to contribute. raising infant twin girls so time is fleeting š the trick is getting them as excited about star wars as their dad some day! cheers.
Hey there! I may be new here, but I love Star Wars and am an old-school fan. I prefer the unaltered theatrical cuts of the original trilogy and would rather delve into the Legacyverse instead of the Disneyverse.
I have three requests as of night now:
-First, I wanna download the Star Wars Trilogy Hyperspace Collection MKVs. I know thereās the Despecialized Edition, but I really want the alternate audio tracks (especially the mono mix for SW). I legally own the unaltered cuts on VHS and DVD as well as the special editions on VHS and DVD and the prequels on DVD.
-Second, I want the following covers in the highest quality possible to match my fullscreen VHS set. Iām gonna use it for the Hyperspace Collection:

-Third, I wanna download the full DVD ISOs and of the FACES transfers (both widescreen laserdisc and fullscreen vhs) to match my widescreen VHS set.
Can any of you help me out with this?
Hi & welcome schnitzelboy - hope you enjoy your time on here mate š

Hi! I feel a bit out of my depth on this site because Iām not nearly as devoted a SW fan as I assume everyone else here to be. (I stumbled upon the site more or less through a rabbit hole of internet searching after someone blew my mind introducing me to the concept of āfaneditā this past weekend.)
However, I have always enjoyed SW, and especially liked the Mandalorian. (Do I get kicked off the board immediately if I admit that I also really like The Last Jedi and am a huge Rian Johnson fan? š¬)
Anyway, despite all that, I do hope to stick around a bit and engage in a number of off topic conversations. You all seem to be lovely and welcomingāwho knows what friendships I might find!
I work at a library and lead three movie clubs and a writers group. Some of my interests outside of Star Wars:
Library nerd, fanedit newbie, aspiring writer
Welcome! Donāt worry, many here are also big fans of Rian and TLJ (Iām mixed on it, but more positive than not). I hope you do stay a while, despite the name we welcome fans of all things Star Wars. Well except the Holiday Special. š
You probably donāt recognize me because of the red arm.

Hello. Iām new. Iāve been a fan of Star Wars since I was little. I was born after Empire but before Jedi. I remember playing every Star Wars game that I could find when I was a kid. I look forward to the day in the near future when I sit down with my kids to share these films with them š
Hi everyone,

Thanks for⦠well, existing, I guess. Thatās a start, along with your tremendous work.
Over and out.

Hi everybody!
New to this forum obviously and one thing that I feel like an idiot about is the search button. Does it exist? Where are they?
Iāll be doing more digging on here but Iām looking for the ābestā versions of the holiday special, and both ewok adventures. I could just youtube-dl this stuff but Iām looking for something more ālegitimateā.
Thanks in advance if you happen to reply to this post with some direction!

Nope.

Mod Edit: The āHow do I do this?ā on the OriginalTrilogy.com thread in the General Assistance section of the site contains information on how to do a search on here - as well as other useful bits and pieces too.
Please take the time to look around - and as stated in the opening post of this thread⦠a little patience can go a long way on here. There are also several Index Threads pinned at the top of many respective sections of the OTā¢com - which may help members find various topics of discussion, fan edits, preservations and other projects etc š
New to this forum obviously and one thing that I feel like an idiot about is the search button. Does it exist?
Nope.
It used to exist on this site, but they outsourced it to Google. On the bright side, search works better the new way (going to Google).
Greetings everyone!
I was among the unfortunate ones to grow up with the 1997 Special Editions. I thought for many years that those were just alternate versions. I was quite disappointed when I found out that wasnāt the case. Within the last couple of years I discovered the Despecialized Trilogy and I havenāt come up for air since. Iām glad to be part of this awesome community.
May the force be with you all!
Fairly new to the site, and already amazed by the community and how helpful people have been. I have found the Despecialized editions (part of the reason for my browsing), and everyone has been very kind.
I grew up watching the originals, but was young enough when the 1997 edition cam out I did like some changes (I actually have no love loss for yub nub, but please donāt hate me for it š).
āItās over anakin. I have the high ground.ā After Darth Maul, Obi Wan should have known better.
Hello there!
Big Star Wars fan going all the way back to when I was three years old. I discovered the Despecialised Editions a few years ago and loved them, but I hadnāt gotten around to joining the community until now.
Last week I was browsing through channels on television and noticed The Phantom Menace was on, so I put it on. Holy crap, I never knew they changed the prequels as well! While Iām not a huge fan of the prequel trilogy, I do think it would be nice to have preserved theatrical versions for EVERY Star Wars film eventually.
Hi everyone, Iām new to the forums here. I had wondered for many years now about what the original films mustāve been like, but only just searched. So here I am now hoping to learn more now.
Hello there! Youāve taken your first steps⦠(or something like that) š

Hi there,
Iām 32, Iām from Naples (ITALY), Iāve been a Star Wars fans since I was about 12. Episode 1 was about to release so I had my dad buy me Episode IV on VHS, I didnāt have a DVD player yet, but was about too. Didnāt really buy other versions up until 2015 (an Italian box set with the 6 movies in BluRay). Then I found out there was something called Despecialised Version. I used to have my own videoclip about 15 years ago but my tech is outdated and I quit, so the whole āFan Editingā world is kinda new to me. But you guys are still making me want to buy a new PC and a proper 4K Monitor.
Hi there
Long time listener, first time caller here.
I made the decision to join this community so I could say Iām so GRATEFUL to Harmy, the 4k77 and 4k83 project teams and originaltrilogy.com.
OT means so much to me. It is good and true and an immutable part of who I am and Iām humbled to join the community that curates and protects it.
tl;dr
I first became aware of originaltrilogy.com after acquiring Harmyās Despecialised Edition of Ep. IV. I was stunned at the amount of effort that must have gone into it but also not stunned because OT means that much to me too.
Iām 43 this year which means I guess I got to experience the sheer wonder and magic of seeing Star Wars as a kid of the age of 9 or 10 then again and again as I became a teenager, adolescent and adult at each stage of my development finding something new whether it be the Wilhelm Scream or āIāve got a bad feeling about thisā only dropping for me after like the 20th viewing LOL but always ALWAYS still experiencing the magic no matter how old I got.
I was so conditioned after watching it so many times even when I was an older teenager I COULD NOT SEE models or double exposure or matte composites. I still saw REAL SPACE SHIPS just like when I was 9 and this effect persisted all the way into adulthood and it was only since I got a big screen TV in the last few years I finally thought āoh yeah ok I see the āeffectā nowā.
My OT journey was a little different actually because ahem somehow my dad had a VHS copy of ROTJ before it was released in theaters - not the final cut either - and I was too young to understand what a trilogy was or be aware of any of the marketing for the films. I watched Ep IV then ROTJ but ESB did not exist for me until I was about 14 or 15!
I was too young to see have seen any of the films at the cinema so Iād only seen them on VHS - a wrong later to be made right by 4k77 and 4k83 which brings me to the reason why I have signed up tonight.
I only have a fairly modest 55" 2K TV but O⦠M⦠G⦠4k77 took my breath away. From the exquisite texture, character and definition of 3PO and R2D2 in the opening scene to the tail lights on the Tie Fighters to the structural detail of the Death Star (you can see every individual window) not to mention the colour etc. - every scene is just so alive!
Anyway this is probably not the thread to gush too much about that project but the point is it inspired me to make this connection with originaltrilogy.com as the site that fosters such collaborative efforts.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
So cool to read to read stories such as your Madcat and kiripunk, as well as the others who have posted in here. I havenāt been here long either, and yet this feels like home - or at least a cool and knowledgable place to chat Star Wars.
50 Cent is just an imposter
Hi guys,
completely new here.
32 years old from germany. star wars fan since i was a kid and i grew up with star wars that my parents had taped to vhs. My first glimpse of star wars was actually at a friends house, the parents were watching it, but wouldnāt allow us kids to view it yet (he had very strict parents). But I was already hooked! Well my parents were always pretty lax about this stuff so they let me watch it at home.
Later in my teens I had the opportunity to actually watch all 3 of the original trilogy in cinema aswell, this was when the first major edits were made and the cinema in my area took it as a reason to screen them aswell (very unusual in my area, with a small cinema like this especially).
Now since I grew up with the original VHS versions of the OT I canāt stand the new edits⦠and thats when I learned about this site and all the fantastic fan edits that have been made.
