Hello, all. Long time lurker but decided to jump in. Love all the little technical details that go into preservation and restoration. Outside of Star Wars, particularly interested in Lord of the Rings and Classic Doctor Who.

Hello!

My names Damian. Recently found out about this forum by accident looking for a better version of the hobbit. Then I noticed the entire potential and how everyone is just trying to bring back their favorite movies and shows but for their own personal re-watch and I thought that was just awesome. Brought me back to the days of going on a forum and everyone sharing what they have.

I think its great with the new ability we have of internet speed, storage space, etc. to be able to collaborate and see each others work compared to the VHS/DVD era.

Anyways, rant over.

Glad to be here, and looking forward to checking in often!

Hi all,

New here! Here for the obvious stuff but also curious to learn more about Disney’s Mousespecalized Project 4K27. Could be better but will never hold up to the love the fans have put in.

Hi everyone,

I’ve only just come across this site after watching a few LOTR and Hobbit fanedits and looking for a hard to get version.

Me? Been a huge SW fan since the release when i was 7 and watched it at the cinema. What an experience as a 7 year old that was and also got in to Hobbit and LOTR around the early eighties and grew up on the Bakshi LOTR movie. I’d say that SW and LOTR then molded who i am really. I feel i’m one of the few adults that has enjoyed most releases for what they are, with SW in particular i think a lot of us forgot they were really meant as kids movies when E1-E3 were released. Still, like RoP i enjoyed seeing more content (mostly).

Looking forward to trying to see some edits over time!

Hi everyone! I’m a huge animation fan from France. I’ve been following preservation projects for a while and finally decided to join the community. I’m particularly interested in 35mm scans of classic movies and restoration workflows. Happy to be here!

Greetings

Currently work in editing and based in Century City. Joined due to getting into the scanning hobby for our stockpiles of 35mm reels in the cooling storage. They’re just… sitting there. New year comes new side projects. Not sure if this forum would even be interested in the international heavy catalog we have here, but who knows.

1st project will be (2003) Memories of Murder

Cheers

Hi, I’m new. I don’t know if introducing one’s self is mandatory or not but I’m doing it just in case. Thanks for having me.

Hello, I’m a film enjoyer and I like to find the best (or at least what I think is the best) quality and faithful remasters of films I like. Cheers!

Hi, im new here an interested in fan edits. I only watched Maple’s Hobbits cut and Mixologist edits from reddit and love them. I think Maple made the Hobbit actually watchable, i really don’t like the original movies but love the book and Maple’s cut was a vast improvement, i liked he had the extra content as another short film too. I’m mainly here for the best looking Lord Of The Rings extended 4k (preferably hdr) versions possible and open to suggestions. After having the ultimate LoTR experience im planning to looking at original SW triology without weird remasters.

Hi everyone!
I’m Henrique, a filmmaker and home theater enthusiast from Brazil. I’ve been obsessed with movies since I was a kid — not just watching them, but also exploring how sound, color, and mastering can completely change the experience.

At home, I’ve built a dedicated setup focused on accurate picture and immersive sound. I enjoy testing remuxes, comparing different encodes, and learning about HDR mastering, Dolby Vision, and audio formats like TrueHD and Atmos.

I joined this community to exchange knowledge with people who appreciate film quality at its best and to contribute whenever I can with my technical background in video production and post-production. Excited to be here and learn from you all!
