Really sad to hear Jay. I haven’t been on the website for years now. But every now and then I want to check back to see how our original cause is holding up. 😃

This place was my first internet community I decided to become a part of. I wanted to share my love of Star Wars with fellow like minded individuals. People whom I could talk passionately with about not just Star Wars but all film. I had such a great time while I was a member here.

At the time I was in college. I wrote my local newspaper about the website and they trusted me enough to write a full page article promoting the website and it’s purpose. My passion for what we were trying to achieve clearly made me the ideal candidate. I was so proud to be championing a cause that many of us felt so strongly for. If not for you, I never would have wrote that article, nor found my voice.

I now work at that same college I attended and married my high school sweetheart that sat next to me for days helping me edit that article for the newspaper. The more things change, the more they stay the same right? 😉

Thank you Jay for everything you’ve done here. I have slowly watched your website morph into something so crucial for our passion of film. It is an extraordinary thing that I was glad to be a part of for many years. Best of luck to those who choose to carry on the originltrilogy.com legacy. I wish you all the best on your journey.

Jay, enjoy your retirement. You deserve it!

Take care my friend. 😃

… Wait… Star Wars has been released in 4k??? WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN ALL THESE YEARS!!!

See you in the forums everyone.

Would Patreon be a viable option for this as a way for people to kick in a buck or two on a monthly basis to keep the lights on? The good news is that $70 isn’t a huge amount of money so it wouldn’t take that many people giving small monthly donations to reach that goal.

I’m not here a LOT but I do value this place. Patreon or some such would work for me.

Yeah, no doubt we can help keep things going. 70/year is really not that much.

Maybe something like Wikipedia, just ask for a fixed small amount like $5. 15 people = 1 year.

Either way, I know it will work out fine.

Would Patreon be an option? Given the amount of projects happening here, I don’t doubt that at least 15 people would be willing to donate $5 a month. I might be willing to donate some money each month.

I’m not here enough to gauge how many people are here. Would there be 35 people who would pony up $2 a month?

Hey Jay,

I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you’ve done. 15 years is a good run and you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished.

I didn’t think this place would ever go away, even if they officially released the Unaltered Original Trilogy. How about just having a private Facebook group?

Privacy on Facebook is an illusion, unfortunately. And there’s the problem of archiving the existing forum and keeping it accessible.

Unfortunately Facebook is utterly useless for this kind of forum.

The mods have set up a PayPal account to accept donations; the button is in the main navigation.

The monthly goal has been adjusted upward to $75 to cover fees (the funds will go through several transfers before making it to the hosting service).

Anchorhead and SilverWook have just under 2 weeks to raise these funds for the February hosting bill, so please consider donating as soon as possible.

If I had money, I would donate. But I’m sorry, I don’t. When that changes, I will donate.

If our goals aren’t met, we will have no choice but to resort to…

Will the recent bans on certain types of conversations be lifted and will certain previously banned users like TV’s Frink be allowed to return?

Those decisions will be made independently when enough time has passed and the transition is complete. Any donations made should not have conditions or strings attached.

I do hope this is a joke. Even if it isn’t, it doesn’t matter. I have no money.

Enter Ric_2.

Whenever you see a winky face, that’s a pretty good indication someone is joking. Pretend all winky faces say “THIS IS A JOKE!”
