The mayo goes on first. Then you throw the boloney*. Otherwise, it won't stick.

* I know it's spelled "bologna".

Do any of you potential beta testers use IE for Windows or Mac? I ask because the current stylesheet works fine in Safari, Mozilla, and Firefox (Win and Mac), but IE chokes and pukes all over the place. I haven't had time to build a stylesheet specific to IE yet.

Opera seems okay but positioning is slightly funky, so some tweaking is necessary.

That's true for Mac. For Windows users, IE is still overwhelmingly the dominant browser (80%+ of all users last I checked).

Sad bastards. I don't use IE on either computer, but I have it available should I need it for testing.

I used to think of IE users as sad, but I've come to realize that for most of these people, their PC is merely a way for them to send e-mails, surf the web, and chat. They don't know about usability and web standards. IE does the job, which is all they expect of a web browser.

As a developer, I hate IE, but I understand why it holds the position it does.

I use IE, but not by choice. My dad uses the internet for precisely the purpose that Jay stated. I would get it, but he freaks out at any new programs that show up on his computer, as he is REALLY paranoid of the internet.

I use Firefox at my own computer, but I have to use IE at work, I don't know why I can't download Firefox there, but oh well. I have to use IE when I access my bank account, it dosen't work with Firefox for some reason. Also, I have seen some issues with encrypted html fils being opened with Firefox.

I don't have internet at home anymore so I only check this site from work now. They only allow IE to be used so if you need someone to check it for you let me know. I'm around here Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Jay just letting you know that when you get the beta forum online, I'll be doing some hard-ass testings on it, trying to exploit any possible flaws, and depending on what is done, it COULD be crashed or go offline - although I belive that's exactly what you're expecting for the testings, so that this sort of thing dosen't happen on the real forum. Anyway, I'll be documenting all the testing I perform, so you may know of possible issues/bugs/problems.

How do you plan to crash it? Any code requiring < or > won't work because I filter those out. SQL exploits won't work because of the way ColdFusion handles SQL statements.

Overflowing it with a lot of characters, trying to do some HTTP post into the webserver, stuff like that.

I don't know what time zone you're in, but try to restrict any potentially crash-inducing tests until after 2 a.m. EST. It would suck if the site went down while I was working on it.

I'll post the link when it's ready to go.

No more promises from me on launch dates from now on. Developing software gets complex and I'm always finding things to do that take longer than expected.
