I don’t have the checksums for these rar files, but I can give you the checksums for the extracted mkv of RotJ DeEd v2.5 MKV:

Those I have seen.

So, a technical follow-up question: let’s assume I actually downloaded an archive containing a malicious file, rather than the real DeEd. Will I harm my system just by extracting it so I can run the checksum on the extracted mkv? Or will I be OK as long as I don’t run any of the extracted files?

It probably isn’t worth it for you windows people to take the risk, especially if you’re on a computer that’s not your own, like a work computer. I’d say transfer it to something expendable (a VM, another windows computer, a Linux computer, a Linux live USB, just something else) and extract it there, if you have any reason to be concerned.

I still want to do ESB 2.5 but probably will just make it a quick update, changing just the most problematic shots.

Perhaps strangely, I’m honestly more excited about this announced possibility of an improved ESB dropping sooner than I am at seeing the ball start to roll on the 3.0 trilogy…

Looking forward to all of it. Thanks as always, Harmy.

I like it but I still prefer McDiarmid as the Emperor in ESB. It would be awesome to see a “canon-friendly” edition with the good changes and fit more in line with the new canon without all the unnecessary scenes and continuity errors created by the Special Editions and Prequels. (Mostly the Prequels.)

palp’s ROTS makeup looked pretty crappy.

Despite it getting an Oscar nomination.

I for one agree with the academy: no trophy.

This actually got a laugh out of me. And really, I doubt they got nominated specifically for Palpatine’s makeup, rather probably despite it (at the very least, that makeup obviously did nothing to help them WIN).

i wish they’d reshot that dialogue during ROTJ’s principal photography, or even during phantom menace’s filming. palp’s ROTS makeup looked pretty crappy.

At the very least they should have tried to make him look like he did in Jedi, rather than the hot off the presses (or force lightning to the face) look of RotS, even if they had to go fully CG. Completely ignoring continuity by having him look the same between RotS and Empire ruins any argument or hope that his appearance in Jedi is the result of aging from the natural progression of time and also possibly gradual withering effects related to the Dark Side of the Force. Rather it just shows they had no taste or vision while making these changes. Heck this brings me back around to my feelings about how they handled Palpatine in RotS, with how long it was after Jedi and they still had the same actor, they were in the PERFECT position to age him convincingly with only light makeup touches necessary to show the toll the Dark Side can start to have. Palpatine never came off as cartoonish in Jedi, and the actor himself ended up aging such that he looked increasingly recognizable to his original appearance. To purposely disfigure him in the goofiest way for the purpose of hamfisting in “continuity” was unnecessary as obviously just a little makeup work would have been enough to bridge the gap by hinting at advanced aging / dark preservation, but the chance to capitalize on then-relevant real life political news of a politician who was disfigured by an attack with acid which ended up actually helping his agenda… I guess it was just too much for our “innovative” pal Lucas to pass up.

OK i got the Star Wars, DE v2.7 (Towne32 edit) AVCHD.
but i am haveing trubl with ImgBurn.
https://image.ibb.co/jikWnb/ffwe.png

unlike ROTJ. where i got a ISO File (.iso)
i got a BDMV folder with more folders inside.
i tryed this https://www.dvd-guides.com/guides/blu-ray-copy/260-burn-blu-ray-avchd-using-imgburn
but the calculator gets stuck at 99%?

The calculator just tells you what percentage of the disc the data would use… You don’t really want to hit a full 100%.

As far as the effect of the label drying, it was the biggest problem for CDs. CD surface/label layer is the data layer. If you damage it, or write on it with pencil or rip it off with a label, that’s your data you’re removing.

Fair enough, what I encountered at work quite likely was a burned CD rather than a DVD. I didn’t realize though that DVD is less susceptible to data loss from label side damage, that’s interesting to know, and I’ll certainly be looking into that more.

I think from that perspective, Adywan’s version of the Emperor scene is by far the best.

I would agree if it weren’t sped up. I get that he was trying to make it match the original performance and ROTJ better but with his inflections and delivery it just sounds unnatural to me. It definitely looks the best tho

You need a printer that has a tray specifically for printing on discs.

bummer. I guess I’ll go get the Sharpie then.

Or you can, despite them being printable, buy adhesive CD labels and print disc art on those.

It’s what most of us do, I’d imagine.

only use adhesive labels if you want your disc to be unusable in a year or two. the adhesive warps the disc when it dries.

At work I’ve seen what adhesive can do to burnable media over time, it is not pretty (and I’m talking like just scotch tape… there were visible “waves” out from it in dye on the other side). Not to say that every adhesive will do the same with every disc, but it has certainly given me great pause in ever considering doing the same at home to anything I care about. Inkjet printable is as far as I go, and I’ve done so with surprisingly good results on a very affordable epson printer, which you wouldn’t even know has a CD tray unless you look just right…

OK some what helpfull but when I try your link I get this
https://image.ibb.co/bX6FtG/DWB.png

That’s odd. Maybe a pdf copy of that website will help.

I’ll post a link for you with “WeTransfer”. The link will only be good for 7 days, but that way I don’t need to worry about maintaining it.

How to write an image file to a disc using ImgBurn

thank you.
I just got some more disks So i can just try it now.
I’ll tell you what happens when I’m done.

Well, it isn’t amazingly hard, if you do it right the first time it should only take one disc… Ask specifically if you have any doubts, we can help.

okay after several failed
and 1 partially successful 10 hour download I managed to get the HARMY DEEDVI V2.5 AVCHD MANUAL rar on my PC.
I then used 7-Zip to decompress it.

i got "headers Error: Wrong password?
and
Wamings:
There are some data after the end of the payload data
CRC failed : Wrong Password? : ROTJ v 2.5 AVCHH\ROTJ-DEAPECALIZER_V2.0_AVCHD.ISO

I wanted to see if it would work at all before I tryed to burn a disc

so I tryed to play the file with VLC
because that can play almost anything.

I can’t play it at all. What gives?

Honestly, WHAT the problem is should be pretty darned obvious, you need a password to open the rars correctly… I’d say what the password is, but I don’t know if that’s allowed (though it should be darned easy to guess with only a few attempts), so I’ll defer answering that till I know if I can.

Edit: Unless… what the heck did you mean by partially successful download?

Oh hey look, I checked of one of those last remaining to-do items…adding “ambient” background noise to the theater scene.

Dammit, you asshole… it is perfect. Exactly represents what the modern movie going experience is like. Funny enough, just today I was talking with Sam Jones (of Flash Gordon) about this very subject of food noise in theaters.

Ha, early-2017 TV’s Frink was an idiot. Granted, late-2017 TV’s Frink is also an idiot, but has the advantage of being closer to 2018 TV’s Frink.

To answer the question, yeah there’s too much to be done still in the next 2 months.

A workprint is nearly done but I need to put more time to finishing all the little remaining items left on my to-do list.

I went through the to-do list this afternoon, killed a few old ideas, and what is left really isn’t too daunting. I can now express confidence that there is a 42.7% chance I’ll be done before 2019.

Ironically, greater than 42.7% of all statistics are made up.
