I can’t for the life of me remember, but someone on here was doing an edit with exactly this in mind. If this was indeed you I apologise, but surely someone must have removed Jar Jar from TPM by now?

Yeah, I am pretty sure that was me. I released several clips where I took out Jar Jar Binks from scenes without cutting out the scenes completely. (only one or two survived I’m afraid) I just couldn’t find an efficient way of doing it. Most of the time, background is static, so the method I used was to rotoscope him out of a scene and add motion tracking if the camera is moving. But since Jar Jar moves way too much, it takes way too much work at some scenes.

There are other people who removed Jar Jar Binks (or at least mostly) from TPM, but not the way I want it. They just cut down, otherwise perfectly fine scenes to do it. (there are already way too many scenes to be removed from the movie, I think we should try to save what we can from it.)

There is technology that can do complete removals now so this is very possible. Please see my Time code removals for TFA del scenes

STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>

It will be sad to lose you.

However, I have definitely been thinking the same thing, lately. Though it’s not related to the specific incident you describe, TFA brought in a huge influx of trolls and bigots. The latter have been especially loud in recent times, as they feel that they are standing up for themselves as the ‘anti-PC’, when 2+ years ago we would have just called them regular assholes (most of us still do). I still really like talking about the technical stuff with everyone here, but there’s no doubt that it’s becoming an increasingly unpleasant place. If I don’t leave, or at least take a break, I’ll probably see myself banned for a response of mine.

That’s partly the reason i need to take a step back away from this site. I’ve got a lot going on at the moment which is causing me a lot of stress. I have some serious financial problems that i can’t see being able to sort out any time soon. Then there is the added pressure of finishing the edit. People have waited way too long for me to finish this and i don’t want to keep disappointing them, especially when its so close to being finished. It is all getting on top of me. Coming here used to be a way for me to de-stress. To have fun and discuss topics with like minded people. But that seems to have gone lately. It’s one big argument after another and not in the fun way. I’m finding that its all just got too much for me and that i have started to find the slightest thing is making me feel angry and aggressive towards certain people. That is not me and i really don’t mean to be that way. The last time i felt this way was when my parents died and i snapped at the slightest thing and fell out with people who really didn’t deserve to be spoken to like i did at the time. If i don’t leave now i could end up saying or doing something i regret. Maybe if i can sort out the problems in my life i can go back to the way i was and not let all the crap happening here get to me so much. But something needed to be done.

But the last thing i want is for people to leave this site just because i’m stepping back. Hopefully the crap will stop. I love this site. i have had many great times here with everyone. A few bad apples wouldn’t usually make me feel the need to leave, but it has become just too much. Jay and all the mods here have always been nothing but fair and i apologise for my recent outburst. Something needed to be said though. But today will be my last day here. At least for the foreseeable future. I’d rather remember this site for all the good times and great people than for the crap thats been going on lately. It has nothing to do with newbies coming to the site, but more about the attitudes. we have had new members coming thoughout my time here and 99% of the time they have been welcomed with open arms. But now it seems like a majority of the latest influx is only here to be assholes. At least, in the past, when someone had gone too far with something they have said, they have apologised and let things move on. Hell, there have been many fallings out yet most seem to be able to be resolved quite quickly and things just moved on. now it seems that its one fight after another that just escalates and never dies. Not the best place for me to be right now.

so, i’m going to step back, finish this bottle of Southern Comfort and prey to vader ( i’m not religious 😉 ) that i can sort this financial shit out sooner rather than later and start feeling myself once again ( and not in an imperialscum doing his taxes sort of way 😉 )

ANDWAN,

To quote Ren in TFA, give me your master compiled video and “I will Finish what you started…”

I would not mind in helping you achieve your cut. I already am working on some compositing for HAL 9000 for his TFA Cut.

Hate to see you go but I understand why…

Request - Can someone put ANH opening theme instead of the new on in TFA for me please?
Time

In my edit these thing mostly have been addressed. It is already released. You can PM for a copy. 7.1 DTS TRUE HD mix is a lot different than a DD 5.1 Standard mix. Just by down converting this is already sounds more like the older films. Keep in Mind this is John Williams we are talking about. Also please note that your setup makes a huge difference…

Open Vote for the priority of Time Code Removal from Deleted Scenes for The Force Awakens
Time

Kylo enters the Falcon is complete XXTELECINE 7XX v1.0

Everything is as is, and looks pretty passable if the viewer focus is on the main character and not the background.

The only shot that i can not really do much for is the shot outside of the falcon. I can not get a good track on the available background information (too much moving snow fog and clouds). The only way to solve this is to do a total background replacement. Which I do not have the time to do… So I made a classic construction worker decision who builds cookie cutter houses and thought and said “Fuck it and Calk it”. (usually applied to band aide home construction mistakes to get the job done.) So you will see a smudge effect to help blur stuff out but it still sticks out a little.

I am going to move forward with the other sequences based on your votes. IF you choose to use these sequences I ask respectfully that I receive a full credit for the removals in your end credits of your edits, and a automatic PM of a direct download link of your work when finished. (I would like to think I deserved a premiere viewing of your edits.) :}

But for now Please Enjoy…
You can dload the master file from below, it is in a h264 format, I do have a 1 gig cine-form master on request.

I mean, I don’t want to use any of the scenes in my edit

The Kylo scene IMO should have been guaranteed a spot in the final cut. HD, no time code, new transitions, improves understanding of characters etc. I think it’s the one perfect deleted scene to be added into the film for any TFA fan edit.

The only thing I think it was cut because it some what created a continuity error with the falcon being buried in the snow as they show kylo walking away from it. And I think they might have been forced to cut it.

Folkes,

Not that I pretty much wrapped up my TFA touch up I am starting to go thru the del scenes. This will take a little time, and I do not want to waste time on removing the TC burn in if no ones on plans using any of the Del Scenes.

Anyone interested in their own edit, can use these as all I am willing to remove the TC. Please put a priority on what you would actually use? As is there is not much there. So I am just wondering if any will make it into someone’s edit…

As of right now, I have no plans of using any of the DEL scenes in my edit but I like to Doodle in my spare time so OPEN VOTE: Which is the best Del Scene?

Also some of the shots are static so I am looking for a good Photoshop guy to paint /clone the missing background info for clean plates, then I can do the rest. Please PM if interested.

STAR WARS VII - XXTELECINE7XX (Released)
Time

I am pleased to announce that Star Wars VII XXTELECINE 7XX v1.0 is in a final rendering stage slated for release in the next few days. This is by far the easiest release I have had from the simple standpoint as there was not as much stuff that I wanted to change from prior releases.

Details of changes:

–15% of some laser shots reworked. (most will not notice this change) I am very particular with lasers :}
– Restoration of original Falcon engine look (all flying sequences.) This helps with me with my SODB and help visually with a more practical effects look; (example) If you were to watch a Star Wars OT then EP VII.

– RAY/FIN Saber had proper core glow levels restored in some close up shots and wide shots. There were inconsistency with the original from shot to shot…

– 2 Easter eggs added during RAY’s flashback vision added. I am not going to mention what it is, but all you die hard fans will be able to pick up on it. :}

–Added 20th Century Fox intro for consistency from the other 6 films

– Color corrected opening Star Wars craw and end credits to match the font contrast and color of the other 6 films. For some reason the studio totally missed on that detail. (The original did not match funny I noticed this first in the theater. I wonder if anyone else did…

The video will be in an Blu-ray compliant format with a DD 5.1 Mix

Audio embedded in the TFA video file

I’m scolding you. Buy the drive if you don’t have it. Pirated copies are pirated whether you own the movie or not.

As soon as you rip your own BD even if you own an original it is considered pirated by the FEDS any way… It just has not been challenged in court yet.

2 things that give this all away is the frame ratio, and the title in the screen shot. I think the only way the studio considers any BD-ripping legal in any way if they provide there so called “digital copy” which is a joke in it’s own right.

Exporting LPCM AUDIO FROM NLE Premier Pro FOR MASTERING BD disk at 5.1 LPCM
Time

General question with Premier pro. I Finalized my TFA Edit master in which I used converted the DTS 7.1 HD track to LPCM 5.1, which I then muxed into a M2TS container to premier pro can edit it. Issue is now, I rendered my video, but I want to render my audio mix to LPCM or at least WAV64 so I can mux it together with TSMUXER. Issue is I am having issues with finding an export option that keeps my audio Lossless and something that TSmuxer can read (audio)- I have the newer version of Premier pro CC and it has great export options to DD 5.1, but this will create a 2 generation audio quality hit.

Anyone have any idea’s?

STAR WARS VII - XXTELECINE7XX (Released)
Time

Progress report:

I am about 50% thru the film, some things that I have noticed, is that from a VFX perspective it is very interesting that they really tried to appeal to fans of both the PT and OT. There would be laser blasts that reflect the PT and then a few frames later the laser effect would look like it did from the 1980’s OT (from the same blaster). Similar to how the lasers were done in SW Rebels… I am working to make most of the effects uniformly match. If you had to ask me the percentage of changes to the Lasers in general I would say only about 15% I am making changes to. In the end it will all look good. Keep in mind I am not saying the original was bad, but I am just adding my slight personal taste to it.
There were some lasers that were improperly screened during the daylight action sequences I am assuming this was done on purpose because the studio was concerned the audience would not be able to see it that well. I plan on smoothing those out a little, nothing too drastic.

THE FALCON:
Moving forth I am about 50% with the tweaking of the engine glow effect to try to give it a little more continuity from the OT. I basically created a mask over the original and slightly extended the bottom portion of the mask to make it slightly bigger. I previewed my changes and while it is not overly obtuse as with the OT engine look, I found a good medium where if you were to watch EP VI-to VII there would be less of a sense of Falcon looked more CG’ed then from what I felt was overly detailed (and too small) from team Disney did.

RAY/FIN Light saber sequences.

When I examined the shots put together It looked to me as the saber shots was done by more than one roto artist, in which lacked consistency with the amount of glow from shot to shot. (Could have been a result from general scene color correction). I am aware they tried to recreate the 1981 saber look, but there are other shots where the saber looked as if it was from the PT trilogy and then from the OT. I am working on a partial roto restoring correct glow levels on the shots that lacked there of… (NOTE) This is only for the Night sequence in the Forest. There is not a lot I can do with the daylight sequence because over all those shots look pretty good, and there is little I would be able to do with it to warrant my time.

That’s it for now. It is moving forward faster than I thought, just wanted to share my progress.
