Very sad news my friend. We all certainly hope there is something that can be done.
Sad but true:)
You can send him a message without an authentic email. I just did. Perhaps if we bombard his inbox, he’ll get the message.

This is getting to the point where people will just stop making fan projects, if they know that their work will just end up being sold for a profit. I was considering sending a message to that website saying something along these lines:
‘Greetings from a fellow fan of Star Wars. I noticed that you are selling the Despecialized edition of Star Wars version 2.7. I am currently working on an updated color correction, to be used for Despecialized 3.0. It’s been a labor of love, demanding literally hundreds of days of work over the course of several years, and a close collaboration between members of a large and vibrant online community. Our community of faneditors and fan preservationists exists solely because of a culture of trust and goodwill, and the understanding that these projects will not be sold online. However, since I now know that my work will almost certainly be illegally sold for a profit, I have to think very carefully about whether to release my work at all. Your website may very well result in no new Despecialized editions, ever. Understand that when you profit off of our work, you are very effectively destroying both our work and our community. If you are truly a fan of Star Wars, you will take down this website. Thank you.’
Send it. If this keeps on, well so be it, if I was the one making the DEED then I’d take down everything. Hopefully that won’t happen.
Kind of like taking a picture of fireworks, no? For me, the live experience IS the reason for the event. Anything else would pale in comparison…but THANK YOU for pointing out that this event exists:)
Thanks for that! Very interesting…a pretty poor edit too as they the musical cue gets cut off…
Yes that’s right, it was censored in Germany on the original release. I guess that proves that Poita’s print really is in German! For anyone interested, here’s a short clip showing the censored cut from the 1984 German CBS Fox VHS: https://mega.nz/#!PxJGQBBI!dhpfWgr2GE_73jj5KY7OOe2AUK6DpMVNaKYk_Scr3ZA
Best to you and your family Poita, hopefully it’s a very short stay for your daughter 😦
A quick look at Reel4 😃
Thanks to everyone for making this possible!
Donation made! (Wieser) Any chance of a repost/reshare on this one…it was gone before a noticed it…?
Thanks for all the hard work!!
I’m with you too…
Color correction is also out of my area of expertise, but it’s fascinating to watch the process, so please include.
Be aware…turns out that the “TV SPOTS” on these discs are actually ripped from MY PROJECT…a YouTube video posted here:
They are NOT all authentic, and include my recreations.
That’s my YouTube post above…most quality is decent because much of the video is recreated, based on actual audio from tv recordings. Looking for more if anyone has them…please message if so…putting together an updated version.
Correct. Lots of US spots here from '97. Mixed quality, not my upload
Interesting project. The “Imperial March” is absent because it was written for EMPIRE. Could be cool to see it incorporated into ANH. I believe the triumphant rendition of the force theme is present during the awards ceremony because Luke used the force to destroy the Death Star. Not sure Han needs a theme for this chapter…only to play it when the Falcon reappears during the Death Star battle I suppose.

Man, the filter really seems to eliminate that inexplicable Magenta. Bravo!
The powers that be need to realize what they’ve got here…not only with the (at times literally unbelievable) results you’ve accomplished, but with you THE PERSON who dedicated a portion of their LIFE to this effort. If after seeing all the “evidence”, they still choose not to pursue and take advantage of this opportunity, I certainly hope that Legacy finds a way to escape…at least to the fans who will appreciate it most. That’s what makes some of us as unique as you are. You don’t need to be the person who “Saved Star Wars”, and while I can only speak for myself, I assume that most of us don’t need to shout from the rooftops that we’re in possession of such an important piece of film history. I look forward to this project being available for one major reason, because this is the STAR WARS I’d like to show my 7 year old son Jake on our home projector. I was 7 when I first saw STAR WARS in 1977, and he is now is 7…and enjoyed his first theatrical taste of the saga with Episode 7. With some luck, I’ll be able to show him Legacy while he’s still at that magical age. Then the circle will truly be complete 😃
Yes, I second that request for the 35mm audio, if possible. The actual film audio imperfections add to the experience, especially around reel changes. Funny how we now crave what we used to wish we could get rid of😃
For me, the earliest indicator that the soundtrack is '93 or later is the escape pod scene…Just after 3PO says “I’m not getting in there”, the '93 mix and all mixes going forward, have that electrical impact sound that originally wasn’t used until EMPIRE. Love this version so far, we are ALL so appreciative for the TEAM’S efforts. My 7 year old will be introduced to the original version very soon!

Not fantastic quality, but this is an original broadcastrecording on YouTube...
I say KEEP the cue marks:)
Wow, very interesting. Time permitting I would be interested in some capacity. I work in radio (almost 20 years) so know my way around Adobe Audition...wife and 2 kids though so time is limited, but pm when you're ready to roll.

I would think they'll come up with something more permanent when TFA is released...then replace these (hopefully) temporary ones. IF they needed to go the "existing" music route... A low key force theme would have made more sense.
Real nice improvement...is this a script you adjusted for each scene/reel, or did you apply to the entire feature? I'm attempting to lose the pink in Premiere Pro CC but am having limited success.

They aren't called cigarette burns by anyone but Tyler Durden. They are called changeover cues or cue marks. It's nice to see them again.
I saw that and giggled as well.
Hey, if it was good enough for legendary projectionist Tyler Durdon, it's good enough for me:)
However that term was used well before Fight Club.

Reel change...very theatrical though...back then you typically did miss a second or so because the heads and tails took some damage. Also why there is more dust, scratches and blotches every 20 minutes. LOVE the reel changes and cigarette burns.
