SW Episode III - Reign of the Dark Side (* unfinished project *)
Time

I have watched the clips available on youtube and I'm very impressed at the quality of this edit and look forward to when this will be available to everyone.

The editing of the scenes by trimming a few lines or seconds here and there and repositioning some of the shots gives it a whole new and better feel.

The red lightsaber for Anakin works really well in the story and changes his lord vader character into a true Sith. I'm sure they left it blue to explain Luke's lightsaber in ANH but Obi-Wan had plenty time to put in a new crystal by then.

Fanatastic work thank you!

This is fantastic Goodmusician.

I loved your extended scores sets you made available and have a very keen interest in score music for films especially Star Wars and John Williams.

Do you think in the future you may collect these videos onto a DVD or make them available for download? No rush but it would be nice at some point if this happened as I'm sure we would all like to add this to our collections.

Thanks again,

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

The death star does have hyperdrive, it's been a while since I read it but it's in the death star technical manual that was created for the role playing game.

In fact some of the role playing star wars books contain lots more information than some of these so called star wars encyclopedias.

It's also on wookieepedia a great source of star wars info, I've copied some of the text below.

"The battlestation also included two massive sublight engines in the midsection, as well as a formidable hyperdrive system. Driven by 123 individual generators, the Class 3 hyperdrive was fast enough to allow the Death Star to travel thousands of light years from Alderaan to Yavin IV in only a few hours."

Hope this answers your question

Adywan,

I did a bit of searching for Death Star Tile models that you may be able to use. If you do a search for "Death Star Greeble" you will see that there are a few out there. I'm sure that any of the creators would be honoured for you to use their meshes in this edit.

Over at scifi-meshes.com you can register and download a set of tiles created by JediLaw. You may also be able to find info on Greebling, I'm sure Tellan can help with 3d modeling advice.

I hope you can use these to create the look you want or at least find someone able to create the shot you are needing, it has to be an improvement over the existing model shot.

I would also like to see the first test shot you did out of curisosity if possible.

Good luck!

Adywan as usual this is an understatement, I am in awe of how well you fixed this shot and it is now perfect. Considering ILM gave up on trying to fix it properly it is a testiment to your hard work and skill. I cannot wait to see the final version of the Death Star battle.

I would also like to point out that the original blade was rotoscoped so badly that it covers some of the hilt making the process of fixing the problem very difficult. Half the time the blade was nowhere near the direction the hilt was pointing.

I attempted this a long time ago until Adywan came out with his first test shots which blew me out of water in terms of quality.

At that point I had created a clean back plate, a clean chewie in the background who was covered by the mis-aligned blade and created a mask of Luke's hand with the hilt. Even then the original blade made that part very difficult to compensate and not look odd.

At one point I even considered creating a new hilt but it was out of my skill range.

I must say Adywan's fix of that scene is fantastic and has managed to turn a very badly done old effect around. I'm sure a lot of hard work went into that 143 frames of footage on board the falcon. I love Alderan's new destruction and loved the Jimmy Smits version too but I gotta say I got more excited when I saw the fixed lightsaber scene. That and the mssing window behind the stromtroopers on Bespin in ESB are two things I've found very hard to ignore.

Thanks Adywan!
