And for the record, I’m not offering to sell these to anyone

Interesting…I’ve got some pretty contradictory stuff to show you then.

PEOPLE WOULD COME TO ME TO PURCHASE FULLY UNCUT DVD COPIES/EPISODES THROUGH DOWNLOAD LINKS ON THERE REGULARLY.

Nothing more to be said, really.

Those posts were saying what happened on my facebook page before it got reported.
The costs listed there covered my time, effort ink for printed DVD labels, top quality
DVD discs and P+P costs. I haven’t advertised on public posts here that I’m selling them,
I’m simply giving people the heads up that they can be obtained if wanted.
I haven’t advertised here that I’m blatantly selling them though have I?

Without arguing now, and onto something more uplifting…I see through some of your old
posts that you did a little editing to the episodes to obtain them uncut too. Your posts
are a little confusing to me though with DVB * asterisks listed by some of your episodes.
Instead of arguing with me, why not pool our resources as Del says and work together to
complete our collections as good as they can be. I’m always looking to improve mine if I can
but they are near perfect to me but seeing as I’m a die hard fanatic and know everything about
the series, I’m always willing to work with fellow fans to work together and help complete the
episodes as best we can. Are you interested?

I see you were looking for original theme tunes. I have all these from first broadcasts so mine
are perfect. I also have Trigger’s PRAT line from Class of '62 from an early original broadcast
and I have Miracle of Peckham in great quality too, so if interested let me know.

THAT WAS MY FACEBOOK PAGE AND IT HAD ALL THE UNCUT SCENES FROM ALL THE CUT EPISODES ON THERE, ALL THE RARE LOST SKETCHES AND MORE AND WE HAD OVER 500 MEMBERS WHEN FACEBOOK SHUT IT DOWN TO COPYRIGHT DUE TO SOME SNAKE GRASSING IT UP TO THE FACEBOOK POLICE. PEOPLE WOULD COME TO ME TO PURCHASE FULLY UNCUT DVD COPIES/EPISODES THROUGH DOWNLOAD LINKS ON THERE REGULARLY.

The “snake” that reported you to the “Facebook police” did so because you’re SELLING copyrighted episodes illegally, instead of simply sharing them. This community is not about illegally selling fanedits, it’s about preserving media. You didn’t even edit these uncut episodes yourself, you just downloaded the ones I made and took credit for them. I know for a fact, because I saw your “promotional” videos on your page, which consisted of all clips I edited together, but strangely enough, had your watermark added to them.

IT’S AMAZING HOW MANY POSTS I SEE OF OFAH AND THE UNCUT VERSIONS, SO IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO HELP FELLOW DIE-HARD OFAH FANS OUT. WELL IF YOU WANT THE FULL UNCUT DVD VERSIONS PM ME AS IM YOUR MAN. ALL OF MY EPISODES HAVE BEEN RESTORED TO DVD QUALITY AND SKILLFULLY EDITED TO FORM COMPLETE UNCUT VERSIONS.

And yet here you are, still openly advertising that these episodes for sale. You’re not privileging anyone to part with their hard earned cash in exchange for something you didn’t even make, so don’t flatter yourself. Even if you did make them, you’re still not entitled to sell them, because they’re not yours to sell. Don’t come up with “If the BBC wanted to make money…blah blah”. It’s their property. They’ll sell them how THEY want, NOT how you want.

Can everyone please report this user, before he acquires more fan-edited content and begins to sell that as well. I’m trying to be diplomatic here, but it is very crushing to spend around five years and a lot of money on a project, only to find that someone is openly exploiting it for their own financial and egotistical gain.

How dare you accuse me of getting these uncut episodes from YOU? ALL of these are MY OWN HARD WORK
through years of obtaining footage, and purchasing dedicated software to restore the quality and upscale
them all. A lot of these episodes I have on original recordings from BBC and the ones I was struggling to get I’ve ripped from iTunes and restored into the DVD’s. I had help from another contact in obtaining one episode which was very poor quality from Betamax and I’ve restored that into almost perfect quality and this is one of the rarest episodes and scenes cut for timing restrictions. ALL of this IS MY hard work and effort ok. The absolute cheek of it. And for the record, I’m not offering to sell these to anyone, I was simply stating that these rare uncut episode in full DVD quality can be found out there if you know the right people to ask so I was just giving a heads up to people to let them know. It’s up to them if they wish to progress further isn’t it, not you slating me because your simply a jealous snake in the grass (probably you who grassed my facebook page up). It’s people like you who really annoy me and spoil it for the rest of legitimate fans who are desperate to get their hands on these and you need to get a life. You simply can’t grasp the fact that I’m simply offering to help people obtain these edits. It’s up to the individual in the long run. And also, if you claim to have made these edits yourself LOL, why have you not replied to anyone’s post offering them free edits of them as you so claim. RANT OVER. I don’t know why I bother giving people the heads up. I’ll keep quiet in future.

Idea: TOTAL RECALL (1990) - UNCUT Version Reconstruction
Time

Jackpittorino said:

most of you guys might be aware that Total Recall (1990) originally got an X Rating

Info from Internet movie database

Total Recall was initially given an X-rating by the MPAA. The following are the scenes that were trimmed to receive a R-rating:

  • Benny’s death is optically cropped to remove the exiting drill erupting from his stomach.
  • The innocent bystander used as a shield was bloodier before trimming.
  • The stabbing of Helm in the bar had the bowie knife slicing up his stomach. Stills of this were actually featured in Fangoria magazine at the time of the film’s release.
  • Several shots of the scientists being killed by Quaid after he breaks free from the implant-machine were shortened.
  • The scene of Richter’s arms being severed was shortened.

What I intend to do is maybe try and reconstruct the edited scenes with any source I could find and I also might try and recreate the scenes

if you guys happened to have a fangoria magazine with an image of helm being sliced up that was mentioned in the cut scenes can you guys let me know

I’D LOVE TO SEE THIS TOO BUT DON’T THINK IT’S EVER BEEN SHOWN IN CLIPS.

Info & Help: looking for... Back to the Future - Alternate line dub
Time

ClassicGamer81 said:

Sorry for all the posts guys, but as I was listing my rare movies collection, I was reminded of the first time I watched the first ‘Back to the Future’ movie on TNT sometime around 1995 and how it used an alternate dub/take of Doc saying 'Marty, you made it!" during the mall parking lot meeting. I remember Doc sounding a bit more ‘enthusiastic’ whereas in the DVD/future airings he sounds much more ‘subdued’ I know it’s just a small clip, but if anyone has a copy of an early TV airing, it might make for a cool novelty comparison video for enthusiasts like myself! 😄

I REMEBER THAT SCENE TOO AND THOUGHT IT HAS DEFINITELY BEEN CHANGED ON NEWER RELEASES. I THOUGHT, I’M NOT GOING NUTS BUT IT’S BAFFLED ME FOR YEARS AND THE ORIGINAL DEFO SOUNDED MORE AUTHENTIC IN THE EARLY RELEASES. HAS ANYONE GOT THESE CLIPS TO SHARE AS THOSE VIDEO LINKS ARE PRIVATE?

I suppose expiration of the music in the Open All Hours ep does make more sense. Still, it is sad they do this, and I’m sure they could retain it if they paid it, but they want to.

They have to justify the cost and if the licence is considered unduly expensive, it cannot be justified and so the music will be substituted with a cheaper alternative or even removed and the scene left without music - as happened with an episode of Bad Girls, where the characters are seen dancing to a track that is no longer present. 😄

Speaking of Heartbeat again, but when the latter series was shown on repeat viewings on itv3, I believe they changed some of the music there as well, not necessarily Beatles music as such but just a random 60s song. So even on repeat showings on an ITV channel you still can’t watch it as it was originally shown. Why have the rights for music when first broadcast, yet change the music on repeated showings on what is essentially the same channel?. Unless, as suggested above, it is because the licence has expired?. If music rights was such an issue, particularly with a show like Heartbeat, I’m surprised there was any original music left intact.

The licence(s) were very likely negotiated for the immediate broadcast run and then would need to be renegotiated for rebroadcasts and home video. When many of the licences were arranged for older content, home video hadn’t been factored into the equation. Also, some record companies, executives and artists are easier to negotiate with than others. Don Henley and Eric Clapton allowed their songs to be used for free on an independently made documentary because the film-makers couldn’t hope to afford the licence fees and they’d sympathised with their goal. However, that incident is an exception rather than the norm and almost certainly would not occur with a TV series that was produced by a major organsiation.

I would love to convert the episodes I have convert them to digital for archive, but if put on the internet they’ll just be removed. I’ve seen dozens of shows uploaded to youtube, yet neither the copyright holder nor YouTube seem to have an issue. It seems to me that it’s only certain shows which people regarded as popular (ie Fools and Horses) - and influential? they are so keen on altering. I’ve seen plenty of Heartbeat eps on YT, lots of Open All Hours, Summer Wine, Red Dwarf, etc which they don’t seem bothered about, yet try uploading an ep of OFAH in full and it’s promptly removed.

Share them via a torrent. Much better. 😉

Good idea, never thought about torrents.

You don’t happen to know if there are any uncut OFAHs episodes that have been uploaded via torrent do you?. To be honest I couldn’t imagine many would. As I said previously, a good way of sourcing them (though probably pot luck) would be via ebay and the like from pre-used tapes that have TV recordings of them. But what are the chances that someone would have an uncut recording of one of the early episodes (complete)?. Maybe an ep from the later series say from the late 80s/early 90s onwards. There is supposed to be an Only Fools and Horses uncut facebook group, but it appears to be a closed group. It claims they have lots of uncut, unaltered recordings of the episodes; whether that’s true I don’t know.

ALL OF MY EPISODES HAVE BEEN RESTORED TO DVD QUALITY AND SKILLFULLY EDITED TO FORM COMPLETE UNCUT VERSIONS. ALL MY VERSIONS HAVE THE ORIGINAL THEME TUNES FOR SERIES 1, ALL THE RACIST ANTI-PC MATERIAL, ALL THE RARE SCENES CUT FOR SENTIMENTAL REASONS OR TIMING RESTRICTIONS AND ALL THE SCENES OF ORIGINAL MUSIC THAT WAS ORGINALLY BROADCAST. MOST OF MY EPISODES COME FROM ORIGINAL RECORDINGS ON BBC AND OLD BETAMAX VIDS AND RESTORED.
