LEXX, workprint of the pilot on tape

That sounds tasty. Any differences?

I bought it on a german car boot, it's an original copy of the master from the UFA-Plant where it was made. It showes the version of the movie before it was trimmed for the different countries. Unfortunately it's in german but it was much longer than the german dvd/vhs and ld versions. I have the GB DVDs somewhere, so I could compare these on a rainy weekend...

I won't list the expensive ones but some of the cheaper ones would be:

Forbidden Planet, Criterion LD Set
Dune TV Version, asian LD Box
The Thing, asian LD
Nightmare on Elm Street 1, Elite Special Collector's Edition LD Set
NOES 5 uncut LD and some of the series on jap LDs...
The Frighteners, Signature Collection LD Set
Death Machine Japanese 131min Director's cut, 2 LD Set
SP/FX: The Empire Strikes back, Japanese LD
First Strike, asian LD
Flesh and Blood, US 2 LD Set

JM (Johnny Mnemonic) original uncut asian DVD
Lifepod asian DVD

LEXX, workprint of the pilot on tape

I have quite a few Criterion thingys on DVD and LD and Pioneer Special Edition DVDs like the Bride of Reanimator or TCM... but what I used to watch over and over again are the Star Trek TOS LDs, I just love them
I also like the old star trek definitive collection but I wouldn't consider it rare as it's sold on ebay on a wekkly basis

Info Wanted: A Nightmare on Elm St. SE Laserdisc Preservation??
Time
I have the following, all originals in perfect condition:
all NOES:
DVD Nightmare Box set RC1, all movies plus bonus disc
GB VHS SET NOES 1-3 BBFC 18

NOES 1:
DVD german bootleg, unrated
Elite Special Edition 2 LD Set
Elite Special Edition 2 VHS Set

NOES 5:
Special Edition LD Set, unrated

For NOES 1 unrated:
All the bootleg DVDs are rather poor quality. Most of the time they are old rated versions with the unrated scenes cut in. So don't expect too much from them...
The Elite LD Set has more bonus stuff than the VHS Set, quality is great and there's a really a lot of stuff on them.

For NOES 5 unrated
As far as I know all unrated versions are fullscreen like the unrated LD.

I have good DVD-5 transfers of all of them, if I can be of any help, let me know

Idea & Info: a Preservation of Alien Evolution doco?
Time
My A3 workprint version in not better than yours, just the average bad quality everyone has... But in the japanese booklet I have are some high resolution colour pictures of some of the "workprint only scenes". Maybe you might be interested in them... The UMD version was specially remade from the original master to get to the 1.78:1 aspect ratio. There is a way to dump games from umd on your psp but I haven't found a way to get movies off them yet. UMDs only hold 1,4GB but the resolution is not that huge and the movies are encoded to mpg4 and sound is only stereo so overall it will be compareable to a better VHS.

Idea & Info: a Preservation of Alien Evolution doco?

Hi, just found the threat and thought I could be of help...
I've been collecting Alien stuff for years and maybe you have use for anything I've stocked You seem to have much more material than I ever found so I would definitely be interested to get a copy of the results as soon as you will be finished! Just a short list of what I have here:
DVD Boxsets, both 20th anniversary and quadrilogy. I have the 5th disc for the 20th set in RC1 which was quite rare.
I have a complete and mint version of the VHS facehugger boxset.
The big US LD Boxset of Alien 1 and the regular US LDs for 2-4.
I have the Preversion of A3 that wasn't on the Quadrilogy but the quality is quite bad...
I have a japanese A3 Booklet for Alien3 that features several high quality scans of scenes from the Aline3 Preversion.
I also have the new Alien PSP UMD. It features the Film in 1.78:1 and was not cropped from the DVD Version but remade from the master. So you have a little bit more picture at the top and bottom compared to every other version yet. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to dump the thing on a PSP...
If you have use for any of the above material, just let me know...

The Stepford Wives 2004 - Workprint (Released)
Time

I got this from a rather strange guy I met on a movie convention some time ago. Don´t know where he got it but it seemes to be a cam of a pre/test-sreening of an early version of the movie. It´s quite different from the version that hit the cinemas and is for sale on dvd. By roughly comparing it to the dvd I have counted about 50 diffenences which include a different beginning, several extended/new scenes and completely different music. Does anyone know if there are plans to release something like a directur´s cut/extended version? All I could find until today was the international standard version that was in the cinemas…
