Can’t wait to buy BD 50 discs for the ISOs. Even though it’s 1080p, it looks amazing on my 4k TV.

I demuxed the mono track from the Despecialized AVCHD, and placed in the MKV using mkvtool. It worked!

Don’t know. I’m sure someone has it in PCM or Dolby. If you have a 2.5-2.7 Despecialized AVCHD, it might have the mono in Dolby that you can pull from that and mux in with your 4K77 video.
Alright, I did just that. We’ll have to wait and see.
It didn’t work. 😦
It was playing just fine on my computer through pot player, but when I played it on my TV with the external hdd, there was video, but no audio. Did I do something wrong (i followed the steps)? Is there a mono Track available that isn’t dts?
If not, I might get the ISO, but I can either make the ISO myself, or download the one that’s already available (but that is in 1080p only, so it would defeat the purpose of what I’m trying to do).
Edit: I’m getting a 4k blu ray player soon. If I were to connect my hard drive to the player, will the dts files be available?
A quick search of your model number turned up the manual, which sent me to go.roku.com/rokumediaplayer for a list of supported formats. DTS is listed, but it also specifically says:
Note: DTS-HD and lossless DTS are not supported.
So you’ll have to remux the MKV file with a standard DTS encode of the mix of your choice, or a Dolby Digital/AC-3 encode.
However, FLAC and PCM (.wav) audio are supported, so if you still want lossless you can remux your MKV with an uncompressed PCM encode or a lossless FLAC encode. I don’t have the mono mix in any of these flavors, but I’m sure someone can help you out with that.
Okay I installed Tsmuxer and opened the mkv file. I kept the mono track checked. How do I know that the output file will retain the same quality as the original?
Okay so I was able to play the movie on my TV via the external hard drive. It look incredible in 4k. Unfortunately when connect to the TV’s usb port, I the DTS Audio options on not available. I can only see the Dolby Digital tracks and the commentary options. Also, the default audio that plays when starting the video is the 1993 commentary. This is my TV: https://www.amazon.com/TCL-49S405-49-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01MYGISTO
Is there any way to fix this? I specifically want to watch the film with the DTS 1.0 1977 Mono track.
Okay I bought myself an external harddrive, and I’m currently downloading 4k77 (4k) on the drive.
Is this still happening?
I hope the Picard series brings us back to a more familiar looking prime universe.
I’ve only seen Titanic on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray.
That’s sure how the first paragraph of your post sounded.
Wrong. Please refrain from putting words in my mouth.
I was acknowledging the fact that it’s happening. Usually I see it done because the blu ray sucks, or there’s a lack of home video releases. As far as I was concerned the blu ray was well received, I didn’t know there were problems.
Not to be a debbie downer… I do think this looks amazing (it’s like being in a theater and watching it with an original film projector), but so does the blu ray. I could understand if the blu ray looked terrible. Would anyone care to explain in case there’s something I’m not reading between the lines.
Also I would like to know about the status of this project. Is it near completion?
“Hey, I think what you’re doing is pointless, but … is it finished yet?”
I didn’t say it was pointless. Why are you being such a fucking smartass??
This is a print sourced from a re release, correct? I’m asking because of the Buena Vista logo at the start of the film, instead of the RKO logo. Either way, it’s incredible seeing this straight from film. I really look forward to seeing the finished product, that’s if this is a project that’s still in development.
Any updates?
Can’t wait.
I can’t wait to see this. This is my favorite horror film.

Why does the remote matter? My remote is absurdly simple - it’s got arrow buttons, an Enter button, a Back button, a Home button, and a Power button. That’s it. The audio/subtitle switching is all handled within the on screen display on my TV when the video file is playing.
I guess my point is, why don’t you just try it instead of saying “what if it doesn’t work?” over and over on here for days on end?
Because getting it done right the first time is priority. >:D
Maybe it can handle it. However, switching audio/subtitle settings around may be a different story with the remote.
Off topic, but I binge to binge watch the Orville. A lot of people say it’s more Star Trek than Discovery.
You shouldn’t have any problem downloading and transferring it to a flash drive as long as your hard drive isn’t FAT32 formatted (4GB file size limit). And the 1080p MKV (DNR or no) should play just fine from a flash drive on a Blu-Ray player.
Well, maybe. If connect directly to the TV I may not be able to change the settings anyway. Since my 4k TV is also a Roku TV, the remote is a Roku remote.
So despite being a mere video file playing on a tv via a usb drive, you can change audio with the remote? (I have TCL 49 inch 4k Roku TV)
I don’t know if you can change to audio tracks when connect an external drive to the TV. When watching the file on a program other than potplayer or vlc, the language is automatically changed.
I’m sorry, but I didn’t hear about that “odd numbered=bad; even numbered=good” thing until I got older. I never followed it in any way. To me, it is complete bogus, or in other words bullsh*t.
Where is it? I don’t see it on myspleen. 😦
