Frink's Digital Diorama [was: OT Deleted Scene Restoration Project?]
Time

I'm from Germany and have no time to read all old post here, so sorry if I talk about something, that has been already discussed.

I want to make just a Bonus-Disc with Deleted scenes to the original theatrical version of the trilogy. As DVD and/or Blu Ray.

Can someone recreate the deleted Jabba Scene from "a new hope" with the actor Declan Mulholland in HD? The available version of a reconstruction made by Jambe Davdar for his documentary "Star Wars Begins" is bad because you can see the stencils and the quality differences of the sources, also the color correction is bad and the aspect ration is wrong:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCdZ11BM-6Y

The documentary "From Star Wars to Jedi", which is only available on VHS in US and UK and Laserdisc in Japan, contains the half scene in 4:4 aspect ration. And the sound is also not complete, Mark Hamil, as the main narrator, is talking about the scene while it is showing.

And I also want to see the final version from 1997 in HD, with and without original cinema subtitles. If someone needs some source, I have a DVD Transfer from a 1997 German Laserdisc, with original German cinema subtitles.

I have no material to reconstruct the Jabba scene, only a DVD-Transfer of the 1997 German Laserdisc, the bad reconstruction in the youtube version, the official DVD and Blu Ray and the UK VHS "From Star Wars to Jedi".

If someone could send me all existing material, in a good untouched version as it originally was broadcast or published somewhere (TV, VHS, Laserdisc)  from the scene with Declan Mulholland, in the best available quality, that would be great.

I would try to made a better reconstruction with the apple program "Final Cut Pro 7", but first someone have to send me the material.

I would try to make it like Harmy described how he made his despecialised reconstruction of the movie in this Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHfLX_TMduY

I hope someone can soon help me with my project.

About 2 1/2 years ago I made some covers for the German G'Kar SE DVDs. I completely recreated the german VHS covers in HiRes:

Just click the Pics to download these...

Thanks! I searched this Version for a long time. Can you also make the 1995 Covers with the Alvin Arts? I also need the CD-Labels of both Versions. And I need both 1995 & 1997 in German (for 1997 you already done), English, Spanish and Hungarian. Can someone made them please?

Jambe Davdar's documentary called Star Wars Begins is as complete a version of the Jabba scene with Mulholland available.  It's not hard to find, though I can point you in the right direction if you need further help.

I know it, youtube uses the same source, but as I said, the reconstruction is bad because you can see the stencils and the quality differences of the sources, the color correction is not perfect and the aspect ration is wrong. I need all original sources which he used, to try to make my own version.

Why not creating a Bonus-Disc with deleted scenes, like there is mostly one to every movie?

Here's an idea: Do it yourself and then you can share it with us.

The best reply ever? Possibly!

The Jabba scene doesn't belong in it, either with the actor or the CGI Jabba even if it was originally shot with the actor.

If you were making a traditional "Deleted Scenes" collection for the 1977 George Lucas film Star Wars, the Declan Mulholland as Jabba scene would certainly be appropriate. It was shot along with the rest of the film, intended to be part of the film, and then excised from the film before release. That's the definition of a deleted scene, so it should definitely be included on a separate Bonus Disc, as skywalker09 suggested.

Thanks to those who stand by my idea! But I have no material to reconstruct the Jabba scene, only a DVD-Transfer of the 1997 German Laserdisc, the bad reconstruction in the youtube version, the official DVD and Blu Ray and the UK VHS "From Star Wars to Jedi".

guys can anyone help me get a copy of the 1997 special editions on dvd from the laserdiscs ?

I have a DVD-Transfer of the 1997 German Laserdiscs of all three movies, in great quality with original German cinema crawl and subtitles, but without German sound, only a low quality English sound and better Hungarian sound, both in Dolby Stereo.

My Z Version is the same that is explained here, only on pal tape with German dubbing recordet in hi-quality from an original german cinema screening. In some scenes you also can hear the reaction of the audiance. Can someone give me the original VCD Version with english sound or one without the Z logo? If someone interested, I can try to rip my tape to VCD mpeg1 or DVD mpeg2 files.

I also have the original released german tape in 4:3 aspect ration from 2000 with original german opening scrawl, it's also the cinema version. It was also released in Widescreen, but I have only the Fullscreen version. From the Hungarian version of the same tape I have a rip on VCD, with original Hungarian opening scrawl.
