Does anyone still have the 35mm sourced PAL DVD of Revenge of the Sith with the cue marks? I mean the full 576i “TUN” DVD.

I have not heard of this before. I’m definitely interested in it as well 😃

You mean the Russian Telecine? I have a DVD-R of it with Germam audio and on one of my HDDs with original Russian audio.

I believe there was also an SVCD released by Centropy of this same recording. Would be a much better source to analyze, but I haven’t heard of anyone having retained a copy this long.

You mean the 3 Disc Version? I found it earlier on Myspleen. The picture is a bit stretched an it’s in 25fps PAL, but it has a good quality.

Somewhere I have a CD with a Divx file, it’s not put together from the 3 disc version, it’s complete without missing frames. So there should be a raw file with the complete movie, which was splitted for the VCD. I also had a two disc SVCD of it with German sound, but I don’t have it anymore.

I don’t know I would call that “easy”, I can send you my project files and you can see what you can make of it if you like. In any case, we have a very good opportunity to scan this film now if the print is purchased.

I would want to have the original raw files (Maybe a .ts or .mp4 file?) of the Austrian 720p HDTV record “Die dunkle Bedrohung” from ORF1 from 2013 (or earlier) in best possible quality.

The only available recording of the Austrian ORF1 version is 480p.

I already have that 480p version, but there should be a European 720p HDTV record.

Patience! There are two HD reconstructions going on right now. Wait till those are out and then do the opening crawls.

Ok, but I want to do and have it for the 20th anniversary. And I make an upscale from the 2001 DVD, because it uses the orignal German opening crawl, scanned from the original film material, I don’t like newer digital reconstructions. Or do someone have an HDTV record of the German VHS or DVD Version? It was shown a few times on German, Austiran and Swiss TV, I think the most popular is from the Austrian ORF1 from 2013, but I just have it in SD. Do someone have a real HDTV record from ORF1? I think they just broadcasted it in 720p, but it’s the best available source for the German theatrical version. The Hungarian opening crawl is just available on a Pan&Scan (4:3) VHS from 2000 (or a digital SDTV record) and as a digitla reconstruction on the 2011 Blu Ray and 2015 DVD. I want to try to make a mix between the two available Hungarian crawls and the HD Scan from the original, to reconstruct the orignal Hungarian opening crawl as near as possible.

Hey. What was in the first link? It doesn’t work anymore. And could someone make such '97 SE Covers in English and Hungarian or neutral without any text on it, so I could place my onw text on it?

Is there any way to still get a camrip from Revenge of the Sith and ATOC?

I think from “Revenge of the Sith” there only exists the Workprint an a Russiam Cam in very good quality, I think if you know where to look (I think myspleen is enough), you still can find both, mostly the Russian cam (which is harder to find) also just comes with English sound, without the original Russian, but it’s still funny to have, because the opening crawl is in cyrillic text. From Ep2 the so called Centropy SVCD (splited into 3 CD-R Discs) is good and easy to find, it has the same source as the Superbit DVD, the picture is just a bit streched, but if you squeeze it to 16:9, it will be perfect to watch.

1080p at bluray bitrate. It’s 7-zipped with no password and a checksum file in case you get a bad part.

Not available anymore… How could I get it? I tried to make a color correction of the official 2001 German PAL DVD release and recreate the theatrical version with recuttuing the Pod Race and recreate some other changes with the help of two different TV-records and the Z bootleg, but I gave it up. It would be great to have an HD Scan from your 35mm source. I would want to work with it. I would do an upscale of the German opening crawl from the 2001 PAL DVD for it. This year this movie will be 20 years old, the US premiere was in May, worldwide in August. It would be great, if I could be a part of such an HD reconstrution of it, because it was my first cinema experience of Star Wars as a 9 year old child. I saw some scenes of the original Trilogy on TV before, but this cinema visit was the beginnign of my “Star Wars addiction”. I was born and raised in Germany and still live there, but my parents are from Hungary and it’s my second home. I would want to recreate the German and Hungarian theatrical version of “The pahntom menace”. If I also could get the original DD 5.1 Sound of it, I would try to seperate the German voices from the 2001 DVD and the Hungarian voices from the Blu Ray (or 2015 DVD form the Blu Ray version) and try to mix it with the origjnal theatrical 5.1 sound.

Hi. I have a high quality factory-pressed Chinese DVD from the Phantom Menace, the Disc is titled UNDEFINED and the files on it are dated 12.03.2000 or March 12, 2000. It’s a professional higy quality transfer of the official Japanese Laserdisc, in good NTSC quality, with original 5.1 English Sound, with letterboxed picture and orignal Japanese hardsub in the lower black bar, you can turn on Chinese subtitles additionally, which appear in the upper black bar. It’s the original theatrical Version of Ep1 in the best available quality from official sources. OK, it’s a bootleg DVD, but the source of it was an official Laserdisc release. Only the selfmade menues and chepter selection are a bit silly. I can show you the packaging, Disc-art and some screenshots, if you want.

Help: looking for... German & Hungarian digital TV-Rips of the original 1999 theatrical version of "TPM" and the original 1997 Special Editions of the Trilogy!
Time

Sorry for not being here for a long time, but I have some problems in my life.

I have to thank for everyone, you all did a great research.

I just have two questions:

Where can I get the German/Austrian ORF1 TVrip of TPM Theatrical Version and is there an older 4:3 (PAN&SCAN) Version of the Hungarioan ROTS, like from the others (I have a Gemany PAN&SCAN on original VHS, yes from 2005)?

I will try to be here regularly from now on, at least once a week or more.

Greetings from your skywalker89 😄

Next time it airs on ORF HD, I will post the info.

I think in the last time they show a HDTV scan of the DVD-version, which have a different sound-mix, the Taxi-scene in Coruscant and some scenes have different matte paintings where details in the background are a little different. :(

To my surprise, Austria's ORF aired an HD broadcast of the theatrical cut of TPM in 2012.
I didn't know such a thing would even exist. It certainly doesn't look like an upscale of an SD source to my eyes. I could have sworn they had shown the DVD version previously.

The interesting thing about this Theatrical Cut is that the quality is superior to the 1080p HDTV version, as in white areas show less heavy grain and the color balance seems more accurate (no major pink hue). I recorded it back in the 2012 onto my UPC DVR, unfortunately only from the night before the Podrace onwards and there is no way converting that stupid UPC codec to save it as a proper video on my computer without breaking the box open and causing the warranty to expire (it's only a rental).

Next time it's on I will ask someone to save it for me proper.

I hope someone could get me this version, but remember also the sound mix was different to the other two (DVD & Blu Ray) versions. I also hope it's the cinema sound, either in DD Stereo or 5.1.

Somehow I have this distinct memory of one of the Jabba subtitles being too wide for this zoomed-in version, so they had to pan across the frame during the subtitles to make them all readable. Or was that on one of the VHS-releases?

On Sat1 the Jabba subtitles were equal cut of like the ones from Greedo:

Topic update:

The same versions, which I'm searching from Pro7, where also broadcasted by the Austrian channel ORF1. This Austrian broadcasts would be better, because they have no commercial breaks and the TV-Logo  is on the Black bar and not in Picture. But "The Phantom Menace" is the most important, because its cinema version and its original DD2.0 stereo-mixed German sound. Also on VHS the German subtitles for the alien languages are put on the black bar, on TV they are the same in-picture subtitles as seen in cinemas.

Yes, I know, I have them, but I need the originals with 4:3 Pan&Scan picture, but "The Phantom menace" is the most important, because of it's cinema version and original stereo-mixed DD2.0 sound. I have the 1995 and 1997 hungarian VHS versions and Episode 1&2, only Episode3 and the original Trilogy from 1993 are missing in my hungarian VHS collection, I have the Hungarian DVD from Episode3 and downloads from the Hungarian 1993 Versions, but I prefer original cassettes for my collection. But for the old versions of the Prequels and the Special Edition, digital TV-rips would be the same Version as on VHS, just would have a better quality. If you want, we also can talk Hungarian.

Auf Deutsch unterhalten? Aber gerne doch ;-)

 Hallo!
