TMNT: Return to New York

Ah, well then now it makes sense. :)

BTW, @Sketchrob: the new ending (which was originally the opening) looks great and I think you did a great job with the sound editing. One change I'd consider making though, is turning down the volume a tad bit on the jumping / whoosh sound effects a tad. At their current volume level they get the job done, but they come across as slightly "cartoony" because they're a little too noticeable. If you just brought the levels down a little bit it would make them a lot more subtle, and in the case of movement sounds subtle is good (especially since our primary focus in the scene is on the music track). Also, some kind of slice sound when Raph does his slash at the end, and a flame sound when the TMNT logo appears would really tighten things up.

All of those sounds will have to be re-done thats just the temp stuff dumped form the orig, which is off cause of the trailer footage, agreed on all points.

Yeah I launched a National Magazine in 2010 that pretty much consumed my entire life. Basically I left it at having to re-create all the sounds for the battlefield sequence so I'm hoping to get to this again soon, just too consumed with surviving in this economy. Sigh... Kevin Monroe is friends with my boss heard he'd like to see what i've put together, got lots of backstory on this movie...

hopefully Adywan will say something to reinstate my confidence on this... People go to school for that stuff

This is wrong on so many I levels I shouldn't even comment, but being somewhat of an artist myself  I can't help but get annoyed here. I went to art school for 5+ years and the one thing I learned above all else is, you can't teach quality. Ady's doing more than most 3 yr art grads, by actually making something, let alone at a standard that is on par with major fx houses. The hardest part to art isn't making it look good, its getting the time to refine it. Most productions are done and over with in 18 months time, fx work usually being done in the last 10-8 months. Really, the fact he's already made SWR is proof enough he knows his craft, you on the other hand I have doubts. Oh, and welcome to the forum. ^^

i'm working on an edit, ady do u or anyone else know of a way to remove vocals or music from a scene?

Well, Actually there isn't. It is possible you filter out some, but never all (of either one).

Isn't a little like asking if you can separate the violins and the harps ? ;)

All the definitive SW film mixes are a blend of dialogs / sfx / and score anyway, no ?...

Many have tried ad failed, even those with MADSKILLZ lmao not  sound isn't like layers in photoshop, they are wavelengths. Though you could isolate one a phase it out, you'll eventually destroy the orig source. One reason my TMNT edit is taking forever is cause i have to completely rebuild the sfx for a battle scene and its just a looooooong time consuming process to recreate, on top of full time job lol good luck! ok back on topic :p

Any updates?

Working on it right now n__n took a little time off to get a fresh took at the edit, right now I'm syncing the Spanish audio tracks, with the Japanese tracks being ripped as we speak (took long enough to get the DVD from Play Asia) and building new Credits intros for the film. Once that is done then I move on to the middle section of the movie... the only major headache left really is taking the battle from the beginning of the official release, and having it so April narrates over it. The headache is that I have to recreate all the SFX for the battle cause in the orig, Morpheus' voice is in every channel... ugh...

Is anyone going to add slash-burn-things to Jabba's guards in ROTJ, when Luke fights them on the barge?  After seeing what a saber does against flesh very well when Vader destroys the Separatists on Mustafar in ROTS, I think those effects should be added to ROTJ.  To see a burning sword hit the guards, and they just fall, is not very convincing.
