Rad (1986) (Released)

Please add me to the list of people requesting a seed for this DVD. I would also be happy to set up a trade for the dual layer version. I have over 50 fan edits/preservations from this site and myspleen. I can send several of these to you as a trade.

Is there a trade forum anywhere here? There seems to be lots of people who missed different releases and trading may be the best way to get the titles no longer seeded anywhere.

Howard The Duck - special edition (Released)

Thanks Dark Jedi, you truly rule. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and really held up well. It's funny and has tons of charm. I always wonder why some films are considered genius send ups and others mocked as cheese. Either way based on this thread and the number of downloads over at the spleen its obvious there alot of fans out there.

As for the DVD, its stunning. I couldn't believe my eyes. For the record, I burned a dual layer version and it plays perfect. Use imgburn, I used to have some problems burning dual layer discs, but imgburn hasn't messed up yet.

Idea: The Lion King - Deluxe Edition LD Box Set [14 hours left if you want to do this!]

That is the only bad part about the move to DVD. Companies have never taken the time to make sets like the Disney Boxsets. I have all the Disney Boxsets on Laserdisc including the Japanese Archive Collections. There is some great stuff not on DVD. I have a pioneer elite laserdisc player. What is the highest quality way to tranfer to DVD?

Idea: An unofficial Original Trilogy Bittorrent tracker? (The PIF Tracker?)

I agree totally. I'm a big supporter of fan edits and preserving out of print titles, however it should only be downloaded if it not available for sale or you own the original. Its the same with music, I own thousands of live bootlegs but would never not buy the official releases. It would be great if there was a way to verify if people owned the real things, but that is probably near impossible.

The great thing about most people in the Star Wars community, is that wether they like Lucas' policy on the originals or not, they support him financially with DVD, Toy, and Ticket sales. I think if the commercial stuff is banned, and the site encourages the sale of the retail dvds aswell, that would be a fair balance.
